The only fault I saw in that film is the Afghan mujahedin used AK-74s, instead of Chinese-made Type 56s and older AK versions.

its quite easy to spot out an AK74 and AK47 and a Type 56 from each other
for one the AK74 has a flash hider and doesn't use a 'waffle' magazine
