You are really stretching it. I wonder how the forums even functioned back when Waar wasn't even a mod at all.

You know what, I have never complained about Waar's job specifically. Do you know the Scrooge from A Christmas Carol? At the end of the movie, he learns his lesson, becomes a nicer person, and becomes poor! Oh wait, he stays filthy stinking rich! But his attitude changes for the better! And that story is now a timeless classic! I don't hate Global Mods or Mods or Admins, I hate Waar. It's his attitude.

I went under the consumption of your first post that he did his job poorly.
He is a global mod and IMO the best one at it, since I haven't seen Tegumi in action, but I obviously can't change your opinion and you can't change mine.

Just think about what I have written and Gren too, he isn't supposed to do it to make us happy, he's supposed to do it so we don't have a lot of trouble and problems around here.

His attitude contributes to him doing his job poorly. Also, *assumption. Loooooooool, the mess-up is hilarious.

What's wrong with having the people who work here also love doing their work? Waar doesn't love his job. He doesn't love us. I find it depressing that he still has to do it. That may be how life works, but that isn't how it should work.

Who needs self-control when you have oppression?

Oh god I am tired, thank you for the correction.

And the rationale behind the thread comes to light. Good PR effort, though.

What? Finding out if people here think Fakku has a strong sense of community or not? I didn't need these discussions. I just wanted to see the poll numbers. Someone else brought this up first.

Also hey Tegs.

Well, this thread seems to have devolved into blaming Waar for the lack of community. But unless if everyone who left mentioned Waar as a reason, how can anyone know how much impact he did or didn't have?

Won't let me add you, doesn't seem to like the spaces.

Oh, and someone should organise a forum-wide event or something. The waifu game is a good example, but the input there is limited. MOTEMOTE, Garfest, etcetera, but it could be themed around anything. That would certainly help. But the people who'd be willing and able to do that have tired of the site.

I might give it a go, but I've had my hands burned enough already by pet projects, and thanks are minimal.

Fakku is like a society. We have the users, residents. The law, mods. And the president, admin(s).
The president helps with the structure (of the site, as well as perfecting the forum) and providing us (the residents) with (in this case) new and free hentai, and there's uploaders to help them. The rules are set by the president, to fit his as well as the majority of the residents comfort. And the law punishes those who disobey the rules.
The law keeps the residents in place (that's why we have rules), while giving them protection (against newfags). The law can't disobey the president.
The residents are here (in this case) for the free hentai and the forum. The forum is where they can talk about the good/bad things about the society as well about (in this case) hentai and anime/manga etc etc.

Edit* Sometimes you have to have an attitude to get things down.
"Less talk more work."

I've only ever explicitly stated that I hate Waar. I love everyone else here on Fakku like a friend or family. Everyone, from the newest newfags to people long gone. If the law restricts that, then it shouldn't be a law at all.

No, in my first post I also said how everyone here doesn't really care about each other or only for their own separate groups. And that's not how it used to be.

Oh dear god. Neo, stop bitching like a child.

I can see what you mean, there is very little sense of community here, but not much less than it were three years ago.

Waar is not to blame for the lack of community, and especially not his work as a mod. I have never liked him, he's a total douche - very much like the rest of IB - but he is reliable and have a fairly good eye for what is utter crap, and what is not-equally-utter crap. While essentially a somewhat reliable monkey could do his job, - I doubt that keeping those sections clear is hard more than time-consuming - he is reliable. His attitude is something completely different, that's your personal problem.

The community, if there ever was one, (I doubt it) has not disappeared into nothing, however, the site has grown tremendously since 2008. People come and go, and it's never easy to accept new users into your own ranks, and that way your little clique of users that provided a 'sense of community' might have moved on. Or they simply blended into the ever-growing crowd of new users.

that is exactly how it has always been, there is just more users and groups nowadays.

Then why don't we have things like this anymore?

And how often did shit like that actually happen? And doesn't it happen nowadays?

I don't see the difference in that and users lifting up something someone else, or themselves have done, and getting credit for it.

edit: I want to recall that it wasn't THAT long ago some user were lifted to "Fakku Helpers" for doing good for the so called community.
Honestly, a user creating a manga based of the community, for the community is a one time thing.

Starts with d and ends with oswillrule

Admins are busier than ever with real life endeavours, original content is still being created - look at Antw0n's comic strips, Momoka artwork, cosplayers.

Honestly, the doujin was a one-off, and our art forums aren't exactly flourishing; there isn't much to draw people in over other big sites. If you feel that the community isn't being brought together effectively enough, try to remedy it yourself.

I read that four years ago. I honestly thought we would have had more by now, instead of absolutely zero. Is there more? Please show it to me. I would absolutely love to see it.

Raze actually helped work on it. And he gave credit properly.

tkhnoman doesn't have an account here anymore. How did we let that happen?

I was thinking more along the lines of "doing something especially for the community" than making a hentai specifically.
Because, where's the difference between that manga and the artist that designed the F! mascots?
To be blunt there is not much difference between that hentai and the stick-figure comic that lollolloll12 made, or the one Antwon made. They are all comics based on, and done for, the userbase to enjoy in one way or another.

To be honest Neo, you seem like a spoiled brat throwing a fit because you feel left out. It seems that you rather blame everyone else for letting the site go down the drain than accepting that you're just not quite as in-the-loop as you used to be.

Man, that one-shot was filled with love. The other comics aren't the same.

'filled with love' is some hippe bullshit and you know it. It's a matter of what you enjoy and why.

You're right, part of me dislikes a good portion of the user base, and the job I have to do(which someone has to do). Another part of me loves it, both the job and community. I love running the waifu game, and not just for the trolling potential. It's my job to make sure people don't fuck around and follow the rules, if you don't like the rules then try to have them changed. If my attitude is your issue then you're going to have to deal with it, I see no reason to stop doing things my way.

How am I the reason the community atmosphere is gone? Since the day chatroll/skype a team chat was created and the irc vs chatroll "war" started this site has been fractured, surely you don't blame me for that. So far all I've seen is "waar is oppressing me, fuck you waar." If you want things to change how about you tell me how things should change and how to change them. If your suggestion is I should step down you will be wasting your time.

Man, I can't believe that doujin didn't touch you at all. In a way, it fulfilled every dream of the average Fakku user. It's porn based on a porn site for a porn site. That really just...completes it.

Zak and Harmonian weren't ever trying to break or harm Fakku intentionally. They were annoying, but they liked Fakku just like the rest of us.

They violated our rules countless times. I also am not the one who perma banned either of them.
