The mainstream tech platforms and payment processors are doing this to protect themselves from potential legal problems. I do not agree with going scorched earth on porn (I think it's an absolute bullshit move, yet another reason I hate major tech platforms), but no major platform been willing to hire a big enough moderation team to verify that content being uploaded is legal or not.

Its pisses me off to no end that all types of explicit content get lumped together. Like sure, some of the stuff on Fakku might not be legal in some countries, which is why we can opt to hide controversial content, but it makes zero fucking sense that drawings get conflated with real people.

I have to disagree on one point though. It's not that major platforms aren't willing to hire massive moderation teams. It's that in most cases, especially with porn sites that take the youtube approach to uploading, it's logistically impossible to hire and pay enough moderators to take care of such massive volumes of content. I hate to say it but, the only feasible way to avoid illegal pornography is to have a zero-tolerance policy, or to make age verification mandatory for uploaders, which we've already seen happen with tumblr and pornhub respectively.

Yeah and thats what I mean when I say they arent willing to hire the moderation teams; its because the sites become so big that they become impossible to moderate all content, shoulda worded that better. I don't disagree with the approach of having it be age verification to post stuff personally, not a big fan of the zero-tolerance policy though.

As for all adult content being lumped together? Well, thats the way the cookie crumbles, my guy. Alotta these people get their news from sensationalist media, left or right, and make a judgement call from that rather than actually doing their own investigations.

Yeah, by the zero tolerance policy I was mostly referring to sites that aren't in inherently built around porn. Idk what the rules are for most social media sites, but the zero-tolerance policy makes sense for those because the alternative is policing everybody else; the majority of which wouldn't be posting nsfw content anyways.

I'm just glad this kind of sensitive content doesn't rely entirely on AI yet. Imagine being a legal adult, shooting some spicy videos, and getting arrested because an AI thinks you look 20 years younger than you are. It'd be the most dystopian compliment ever lmao.

Probably never will rely on AI, atleast not in our lifetimes. Not that it needs to with how piss poor human decision making skills already are; just look at how clown shoes the world is right now.

Fakku will likely be better off for it though, since they'll be with a host who, if they haven't caved already, won't cave at all. Thats assuming they don't host inhouse, but that might not be the best of ideas for a number of reasons.

Is it my imagination, or does the forum look a little different? I also just noticed that the one item stuck in my cart has disappeared. Perhaps things are progressing.

The site does appear to have had an update to its look, but I don't know that that would have much to do with the store situation - especially if the issue is the payment processor. The change has made what happens when you try to buy a book somewhat cleaner though.

Just received an order, so can confirm that existing orders are going through. Though didn't get the usual "out for delivery" and "arrived" emails like I have in the past.

Also, still coming with free face masks, I've probably got like 30 to 40 saved up now, lol.

I just made two forum threads to further discuss specific issues related to this.

For discussing the steps to get the online store back online:
https://www.fakku.net/forums/feedback-suggestions-and-support/order-status-and-store-update

And for discussing and sharing any bugs found with the new design:
https://www.fakku.net/forums/feedback-suggestions-and-support/fakku-general-bug-report-new-design-rant-thread

Existing orders/pre-orders will go out to customers like normal, it's just going to be difficult to alert everyone when something gets shipped until we have all of the new systems online.

Are digital sales back? It seems to let me proceed at least partway with a purchase. I'm afraid to go the rest if the way in case I get some error with my credit card.

Is the 10% discount on games for FAKKU! Unlimited gone for good or is that just something that has yet to be implemented in the new store?

When completing a purchase, the cart is still occupied by the recently purchased item. Not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but it's something of which I think the admins should be aware.

Would you mind submitting this information to us here, as well? Contact FAKKU Support

This way we can better track the issue as a support ticket! Thank you!

If we purchase physical copies from any of the linked website will they qualify for a digital copy as well?

No. When you buy from FAKKU directly, you have the option to either buy the digital version or to buy both the digital and physical versions together. So, either way, you're explicitly buying the digital version, and there is no qualifying for anything. When you buy from anywhere else, you're simply buying a copy of the physical version, and the digital version is not involved at all. It's not like the physical version comes with a code to get the digital version (like happens with some books - particularly technical ones) or anything of the sort. You're simply buying the physical book.

So, while you could buy some of FAKKU's older books from stores like Right Stuf right now, you'll have to wait for FAKKU to sort out their store in order to buy any of their stuff digitally, and for FAKKU's most recent stuff, you'll have to wait regardless, because the digital versions come out months before the physical books.

I can understand that you can purchase the physical copies from other retailers, such as Amazon. I want to know if that portion of the proceeds still makes it to the artist(s) involved in the purchase. Last thing I want is some artist not making his cut on hard worked money.

Everything that FAKKU sells (either directly or via other retailers) is licensed, so the artists definitely make money from it.

Other retailers buy wholesell from fakku directly. So fakku pays the same fees to the artists but they get less revenue.

I’m pretty casual when it comes to my Fakku visits and purchases and so I just found out about all this but, we are still trying to solve the physical purchasing problem on the main Fakku site, right? Because Amazon is out as an option and it’s been 2-3 months since this all went down.

Edit: whatever Amazon link they are using in the original post isn’t working-even in just searching (at least for me), opening a new Amazon browser does though

How is the situation with restocks and upcoming releases with the linked retailers? Mostly everything is out of stock EU-side and my orders keep getting pushed back further and further, even the pre-orders.

Thanks.
