I watched that live, crazy own goal. I mean, what a volley! :P
Gervinho looks like a great acquisition. One good central defender and the Gunners could make a real go of it this year.

I think Szczęsny is good enough to be their number one, but they need a better back-up than Almunia for the inevitable month where he gets injured, and everything goes to shit again.

When will they learn not to spend over £10 million on an unproven teenager whose main ability is to run fast? I don't get Arsenal.

If you're playing EPL Fantasy Football this year, particularly the official one, I have compiled a handy guide. :)

The new season to the English Premier League has begun and apart from Manchester United, all its (supposed) closest rivals have drawn their opening games. In addition, I was getting a little tired of reading all the Fabregas- and Nasri-related articles in the news.

Everyone was too afraid of opening the season with a loss in the season tally to actually go out and try to win games. 3 points to open the season is not so bad though....
Is Fabregas really worth 50 + million dollars though... >.>

They got Fabregas cheap! Wenger had been pushing for £40m for months and he ended up going for what, £26m (plus possible add ons)? And Nasri will almost certainly be leaving soon, leaving Arsenal with less than two weeks to replace them...
Aside from that - and it pains me to say this - wasn't Aguero good tonight?

why do you want city to win CL? they are the very definition of fianancial doping, at least Barca for as much as I hate their play acting, are a real club, with who are invested long term in an academy.

[font=verdana][color=green]So, the transfer deadline passed last night. Does anyone have any particular transfers that they think would be good? Let's face it...Arsenal really needed to pick up several players.

Arsenal did ok. They aren't super-stars but they'll add a bit of craft, resolve and experience to the middle, which has been sorely lacking with Rosicky and Arshavin. Edit: defensive signings are obviously decent. Per has a bit to prove though; Wolfsburg were veeeery dodgy at the back last year.
Stoke did fantastically, as did QPR. Obviously I'm happy with United's business after recent results :D, and Liverpool did well too. Spurs fans will be disappointed, Parker will be fighting with Sandro and Huddlestone anyway, and Adebayor is only on loan. Meireles an odd signing for Chelsea but could be a decent replacement for Mikel.

I followed the last moments of Arsenal's transfers via twitter.
Arsenal did really good for the first time in 6 years.
The 2 biggest signings are undoubtly Centerback Per Mertesacker and Left Back Andre Santos.
As for the replacement of Cesc, Wenger managed to get a hold of Mikel Arteta (Former Everton Midfielder) in the last minutes of the transfer window.
Arsenal also got its first Korean player, Chu Young Park (lol park), a forward who is also the actual captain of the SKorean national team. (I don't really expect much out of him...)
Last to take a notice on is Benayoun, who's on loan at Arsenal. He used to play for Chelsea and Liverpool. He looks like a reliable player from what I've seen in some vids but will he manage to keep the pace that made him a super star even after his injuries?
Nonetheless, I still want to take a look at our new defensive line
Andre - Per - Vermaelen - Sagna
Arsenal's last ligne became intimidating in less than two hours.
