Dev Patel from Slumdog Millioniare lead actori dunno about the rest
Dante Basco fits the role of Zuko more. Not only because he's the original voice, but they somehow look alike (Book 2)

A 25 year-old is playing Sokka. I think Dante would do good

Ewww, that pic. uzumaki provided made me do some research to see how the movie was coming along and I don't know if this movie's gonna work out. I mean the casts don't even match their counterparts. >__>

The whole show was kinda ok. The only people in the show who touch the surface that is my interests was zuko(s2+3) and the blind earth girl

@tsujoi: Huh. The trailer looked better than I expected. Then again, so did Max Payne and Terminator: Salvation
Now if the actor of Sokka can crack jokes like him and Dev Patel actually had a more visible scar, it'd be good
Everyone is in for Toph. EVERYONE

What's with the dropping of "Avatar" from the name? Weird.
The trailer makes it look alright, but we really don't see much. The boats look cool. Aang doesn't look horrible, and he moves pretty well.
Are they going to market this movie to 10-year-olds or a slightly older audience?

Rewatched the trailer and noticed.... They changed the signs for each element >_>
The changed signs look more refined than the previous ones.... Kinda takes out the point that this took place hundreds of years ago.
Then again, the new signs look pretty cool

He looks like a little punk, but I guess that's the way he looked in the show too. I'll wait for more trailers to pass judgment.
Who's directing this? I heard it was M Night Shamalan(sp?), but that doesn't sound right...

I went to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen last night with a couple of friends, and one of the previews was for The Last Airbender. After the movie, my friends and I were talking, and one of them went crazy about the fact that the arrow on Aang's head wasn't completely filled in.
It's fine to be skeptical about this movie, to be unsure if it will be good at all, but using the arrow on Aang's head as a reason for why it will suck? That's pushing it.

The director said that the kid playing ang is going to be the next big start, he is supposed to be a phenominal actor prodigy.

In regards to the Last Airbender live-action movie, I'm on the side that's both disappointed and angry about white actors playing the leads, while Dev Patel received the fourth main character role only after a white pop-singer (Jesse McCartney) couldn't do it because of scheduling.
The only reason I watched the TV show and why it became one of my all-time favorite shows is because it was based on Eastern cultures; i cant get enough of the philosophies of the area. Like Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple before it, this story focused around many teachings of martial arts and their mentality reinvigorated my interest in going back and learning a form of martial arts. Yes, it's a fantasy world, but it's roots run deep into reality.

I still think their needs to be a fourth book in the series, why did they leave cliff hangers then say: oh btw THE END

I could see an OVA, but not another season. Maybe one of Zuko looking for his mother...

When I first saw the trailer I was a little mad that M. Night Shyamalan was directing it because most of his movies start off good but end bad. Also I felt that he wouldnt do enough research on it, but I came across a vid on youtube of him and the writers of Avatar discussing the movie and that they would have an input on the filmaking process.
