I always thought that a majority of the characters would be of Eskimo, or some kind of ethnic asian looks, ever since I saw the cartoon. Oh well. Hopefully the movie is not a downer.Well Fire Nation is Japanese obviously while Earth Kingdom is Chinese.
Fire- Japanese; East Asian
Water- Inyu/Yupik (Eskimo)
Earth- Chinese/Mongolian
Air- Tibetan/Shaolin
Fire would be just Japanese period I believe as it reflects on Japan's Imperial days when they wanted to rule all of Asia. Also the pilot episode had them all dressed like samurais. Everything else though fits in well. But seriously, I will be pissed if the movie has only like 3 asians cuz that would be some major bullsh*t.
Though it is based off of these Asian cultures, and the movie should rightfully have such ethnicities play the actors, the plot is over-all separate from RL in regards to nations/countries.
The Fire Nation symbolizes any and all (not just Japan, is what I'm saying) industrial nations with imperialistic foreign affairs, and the cultural and economic impact on "developing" nations.

Fair enough but I can't help but imagining a bunch of white guys in chinese outfits for the Earth Nation. You know what would be more out of place? If all the civilians are asians but all the main characters are all different ethnicity besides asian, yeah that would really make them stand out.

It's gonna suck hard.
The kid can fight but who the fuck says he can act?
They lowered kitaras age so that she could get with ang
completely changing the story.
a pg war movie won't work in live action
that little girl can't do the forms that kitara could do. theres just no way. besides she's not tall enough to make it look good.
it's gonna be butchered

Hmm, not sure on this one yet. It has potential but I am afraid they are making it to dark. I'll reserve final judgement until I see it though. I think they should have gotten Peter Jackson though instead of M. Night Shamy.

The movie IS horrible and this is what my younger brother thinks about it, "I FUCKEN SPENT 11 DOLLARS TO SEE IT IN 3D..FUCKEN BULLSHIT!"
Edit: But I love watching the cartoon, I think they should continue on with the episodes.

I thought the movie looked good. (not seen it yet)What are the changes they have made?
Some names pronunciation have changed. Firebenders need fire in the region to bend, except for Iroh. Cuts on a lot of side stories due to time restraint. Sokka is serious.

Wow it looks good. I mean the previous had great animation quality for an american cartoon and this does not look to disappoint. Everything is looking great so far and I'm loving the more modern era that the nations are arriving now. I always loved how the series had much different mixtures of culture and references that reflects our real world. I really can't wait to see, though I can see they really kept with the muscular look for the protagonist. Looks better this way.
