Dakimakuras anyone?

Definitely one I'll be ordering, but something you might want to consider. The panties version is considerably cheaper and comes in A&J (either 2WT or their smooth material.) The more expensive version comes with 3D ass and boob inserts plus panties (probably the same style as the ones drawn on, but who knows), but the material is made by an unknown manufacturer.

Mmm, I'm probably going to go for the cheaper version. Though I'm still undecided. I kinda do want to get at least one cover with inserts for trying out the gimmick, but I don't really want external panties, as I can't imagine it ever looking "right" having real panties on top of a 2D image... So I'm pretty sure I'd never use them, and I think I like it a bit more with the drawn on panties..

The inserts/expensive version also includes a copy of a doujinshi of the girl drawn by the illustrator too I think.

Oh and the no-inserts version is released a month before the insert one it seems.

Yeah, I'll probably get one version at least but I'm not sure which I'll go with. I definitely want to try out the inserts, but the main thing I'm worried about is censorship. I'm not really familiar with this company, tracing it back it looks like they run a magazine or something. In my experience, magazines and eroge companies are the ones most responsible for lazy censorship; either mosaic or Barbie anatomy. I'm worried what's going to be underneath the goods without the panties on. The worst case scenario is that it's censored underneath and you're forced to use the panties which may not look very good on top of the cover for the reasons you mentioned. But if it were uncensored, I'd probably never use the panties because I'm all for more explicit works. ^^ That's just a really big if.

I definitely want to try out a cover with inserts, even if they're likely to be nothing more than a gimmick. Just not sure if this is the cover I'm going to try them out with.

Looking at it, their first cover is set to release in August, so I may wait until then to order. In the off chance someone reviews it/posts some images, we might be able to see if they have a tendency to censor.

Didn't even know they are going to have this cover with inserts. From reading all of your posts, I'm going to go ahead and skip the inserts since I can't really afford it but instead put the money towards another cover. :D

Well, you're all set with the panties version. It doesn't come with inserts and you can choose either A&J 2WT or smooth (guessing that's A&J's smooth knit, but I have no idea) for either 9500 yen or 10500 yen.

I'm pretty torn on which version to buy too. I fear that a cover with, what I am assuming will be plastic snaps, just won't have that same look to it - come off looking like diapers or some shit. Every cover I've seen try to pull this off has looked rather odd. The only one I feel *has* done it right was the LINDA cover, and that was a swimsuit. The Rustle one that came our around the same time didn't look too bad, but it wasn't all that great either.

Edit: I should also mention that I'm fearful of the sewing job on her chest...where the materials meet. The way that the material is sewn always seem to make their chest look like a Lindsay Lohan implant nightmare. So tempting though...just so curious...and dat ass! Christ almighty!

If you google image search for 〈VENUS No.01〉澤野明先生描き下ろし下着付き立体抱き枕カバー you should be able to find the pictures they had of their previous cover (when it was still for preorder, seem to be gone from the s2comix site now). It seems like the sewing is well done on that one at least with respect to the inserts. The panties don't look that great to me and I'm wondering how they're attached to the cover... D:

The cheapest option is AJ's smooth knit indeed. If any of you have a smooth knit cover by chara-hai/chara-hi/chara-high (however you want to spell it), their smooth knit is AJ smooth knit.

I'm going to settle with the A&J 2WT if I end up getting this cover. Fell in love with the material because of the Clesta Raika cover.

Inserts?! Now there's a dakimakura I might be enticed to buy.. oh, those kind of inserts. Oh well.

Yeah I don't really like how the fox one looks with the inserts, but it's a different seller and the other insert cover by the same seller as the new one (in their shop preview pics) looks a lot better imo.

Was thinking the same thing. Though the sample shot for the first cover they did is a bit weak and isn't a review of the end product, it still doesn't have the visible wrinkling underneath that the fox does. And the fox had that wrinkling since the very first production shots were released. So it does look fairly promising, but who knows what the end result will look like.

As far as the Fakku Store goes, I'd love to support them, but I'd rather pay 1/4 the price on Mandarake. >_> When they had some in stock, the eroge prices were fairly reasonable, though. I paid $110 for my copy of Sengoku Rance at Erogeshop a few years ago. But once again, I got my copies of Daiteikoku, Big Bang Age, and Rance Quest for about $100 combined on Mandarake a few months ago. They were obviously used (while Fakku is selling new), but they all came with all the extras including the character trading cards and the discs didn't have any scratches at all.

Edit: Also, found a better sample shot of the first cover that S2Shop did with inserts. The boobs are smaller than the miko fox, but they don't have that horrid wrinkle problem. Surprisingly, the panties seem to work pretty well, especially on the side with the ass insert.
