Dakimakuras anyone?

I remember 2 that they sold. They were sold out after the first day though I think. For sure after the first 2 days. So it is possible you didn't see it if you don't go on the first day. They generally don't restock. I think they were listed at $85 or something which was not bad considering they go for 10k-12k yen.

The bottom right one isn't actually a dakimakura, it's a bed-sheet from Appare! Tenka Gomen by Hinata Katagiri. And was on sale at K-Books foronly 840yen so couldn't say no despite having no space for hanging or using a bed sheet ;(

If you take a better shot of it later, I could probably tell you for certain what it is. But zooming into the group shot, it does look like it has the consistency of P80 tricot. And did I really mention the Homura that much? :p I took pictures of it, talked a bit about the material, and that was it. :3

Definitely looks like you're having a great time, though. I wish I had the money to make such a trip myself. ^^

Well not that much I guess but every now and then! :p I had a look at it a bit (removed one of the 2 layers of plastic bags containing it - so it was still folded, but not as much) and it doesn't seem to have the wrinkle issue at all, seems completely fine so yay I guess! Which I guess means it is tricot since it was the roica with the wrinkle problem iirc?

But P80's roicot is pretty shiny and has a slight grainy look. Probably be easier to take a short of part of the cover.

Yeah, but only for their latest batch; Ankokoubou decided to try a new material, it had the wrinkle issue, and I don't think they'll be using it again. P80's Tricot, on the other hand, has that really grainy look to it. Zooming into the shot you took, it looks like your cover has it, but I can't be certain whether it's the grainy look or just a lot of noise from a low light shot.

My thoughts on the first night with her, lol. It was just simply awesome. The material is smooth and cold, but very, very huggable. And considering that this isn't 2WT or 2WR, those two materials must be godlike.

Do you have the tag that came with the cover? If you scan/take a shot of it, I could tell you what material it is. Looking it up on the blog, it's listed as Two Way Stretch, which actually sounds like it may be similar(or the same) as 2WT.

About 5 feet tall, only took a shot when I passed it in a store.

Hmmm... The most I get is this: "82% polyester, 18% polyurethane"

Yeah, I suppose it depends on the weaving process, but that material makeup is usually in the range of 2WT/R.

Which is better, though? Tricot or Roika? Or are differences negligible?

It's a matter of preference and manufacturer, I guess. There are maybe 4-5 different big producers: P80, Seiren, Matsumoto, A&J, and a few others. All of them generally feel pretty close to the same, but some differences can often be noted. I'd say the biggest difference between the two materials is P80; their tricot is kinda grainy and the color isn't as good as their roika.

Ahh, ok. By the way, I heard of 2WR, but what the heck is Pearl Roica?
