As long as I can understand the writers point they are trying to get across they can spell it anyway they want.

I chose the first option and I'm not an asshole by any means. For literature like doujins the text should sound authentic. The reason for this is that not everyone speaks in the same dialect, says the same slang terms, ect. When you read a page that has no modifications your thought process will read it to how you want it to be. Someone unfamiliar with certain text may become confused, this is why I strive to be precise when it comes to messaging. Using unfamiliar terminology is completely unnecessary and sometimes confuses the reader, just my two cents...

If it serves to capture the original slang japanese speech of a character then I am absolutely for it. It makes for a better translation overall.

They're translating dialog, so i don't really see a problem with slang etc. It's how people talk. When I write dialog, it's hardly ever in proper English.

Nope, but misspelling things can be annoying when I read stuff like 'your pneis is incredible' what the hell is a pneis? Or when the actual translation is terrible that annoys me. You know, where it sounds like a foreigner who watched a few English speaking TV shows and think they've mastered that language.

No problem until there are 5 other works with the same damn black rapper's normal speech. It just kills the story when you read "imma fuk yo fiin ayz gurl".. that's a total drop when it comes to vanilla or forced. Good for NTR though but only if the guy is black or someone from the US. Stereotypical, but that's how I usually see afro-americans; much like how you see asians, we're not born smart you know ;)

Translations, in my opinion, shouldn't carry over just words but meaning, context, and such. It keeps the original feel intended feel.
Unless this is about shortening words just for the sake of saving space, in that case, just don't mutilate the original wording.
