If you're like me, most of the time you'll be focused on the art and what's going on in the mangas. Translations do however play a huge role and still can be a form of art when translated close to modern speech. It adds.

i wouldn't go as far as saying that its wrong per se, its just when i read things, say a manga for example, i get moving mental images along with voices going through my head making it pretty much the same as just watching an anime and random slang just makes everything turn out retardedly in my head lol. Its like watching cheesy porn with acting so horrible I'd laugh rather than get excited from it.

It is one thing if they use 'standard' slang... things you'd actually hear on the street... but if they come up with something I never heard before... like 'what're,' it bother the hell out of me and prevent me from enjoying my fap session.

Ick, I don't like the follow-ups in the yes/no choices. The overly anal follow-up in the Yes option makes it into a loaded choice because it implies that you shouldn't pick it unless you're anal and overly particular.
I don't mind slang(provided I feel it's appropriate) and I'm not all that bothered by minor, infrequent typos.
But I don't like it when things like you're and your; their, there and they're get mixed up because it can be really misleading because they mean totally different things. It's pointlessly distracting and a little disappointing that for whatever reason it seems to be so difficult to teach the difference between a few terms...

I prefer localizations to direct translations. I feel like that's where the real art of translation comes in. Restricting every character to perfect grammar probably wouldn't be accurate to the source material.

Contractions may not be King's English, but they are correct when a character speaks that way. Alternatively, we could have manga characters speaking as if they're writing an essay. How awkward would that make hentai?
The only no-nos for me are emoticons in speech or narration. Things like "XD" and "T_T" have no place in any kind of written work that is even relatively serious.

Slang is fine and has always been acceptable in dialogue. However, half-assed grammar and punctuation always looks bad.

Slang is fine to an extent. The problem is that an inexperienced translator will probably go overboard and make everyone sound like Snoop Dog (Or give everyone a southern accent).

It should be translated how it is said in Japanese if the character speaks in slang use slang, character talks correctly translate that way

Well, I'd say yes because rewrites are TERRIBLE..
"Hey sis, let's fuck while moms out! Dat ass of yours is great!!"
When it's originally a basic story about schoolmates in that example, it just gets freaking ridiculous..
Liberties get ridiculous in some translations that it's hard to say anything but yes, even if it's "alright" in some cases..

I'm cool with it. As long them don't use the Street English (You know, like gangster slangs). But, if they want to follow the English rules, I'm fine with it.

That matter used to bug me in the past, but now that I have a pretty good realization of it I guess it's fine as long as it doesn't deviate from the meaning too much.
