Do you want kids
Do you want kids?

Do you want to have kids in the future?
Any reason why you would or why people should?
If you already do, what was your reason?
My mom has been bugging me for a long time now to have kids, she doesnt even care who its with as long as Id have one. Her explanation is, so that when I get old, someone will take care of me and make sure that my caregiver is doing his/her job... Im not gonna raise a child just to freakin impose my will on him/her and/or demand that s/he would take care of me
Me, I dont want any coz I cant find a reason why I should. Besides, there's always a risk of death and suffering when pregnancy is involved and this is just the first year! What about the amount of money youd spend on the child. This may be fair if the child is like gonna be loving and obedient but get real. And s/he could grow up and be a rebellious monster and cause you nothing but anguish.
I just cant find anything that justifies the risks and negatives that it entails. That is me and im willing to be proven wrong, Im wondering if someone might know of one or any.

I have a son. I never got to see him though because I found out after I moved away. I get to finally see him in June though.

I dislike children. I like cute babies, but only in small doses. Babies aren't for everyone, it's not a thing everyone needs to have. My sister loves kids, I don't. She can have 4 kids, I'll have none.

Think it's better to do it in your own pace. When you want them - then you make em.
Don't go on concessions (give ground) in such matters.

I want kids, but I'll be a horrible parents, and will force them into becoming my definition of awesome. It'll be hard and spartan training, but one day, they'll thank me (prob not)!

I think babies generally are only good for eating, sleeping, and shitting. And raising them is very expensive
BUT.. despite my attitude towards babies; I found myself wanting some when I was with my ex-fiancée. So I think being with the right person can change your mind even if you do not want one now

I'm with Schopenhauer on this one.
Life is suffering; birth is the beginning of life and with it also the beginning of all suffering. Since imposing pain on someone else is immoral, birth itself is immoral as a consequence.

Just one may be ok but knowing how much I freak out when I watch my brother and sister it's probably not a good idea. At least not for now.

One good reason to have kids is, you know, the continuation of the human species. If everyone said that there was no reason to have kids, the human race would die out.
To be optimistic, bringing a child into the world is bringing a child into happiness. I love life, even if it has its low points, and I like to think that my child would love life, too.
Do I want kids? I want my parents to be grandparents, because that's what they want, and I would like at least one more good person in the world. My child could be that person. Yes, the child may be unruly and horrible, but chances are, if the child is horrible, it'll be my fault. It's not always the parents' fault, but more often than not, it is. If I try my best to teach the child to be good, I'm sure the child will grow up to be a good person. I'll need a very strong woman as the wife/mother though, since I have a number of faults. Still, I think it could be done.
Yeah, I want at least one kid.

If everyone said that there was no reason to have kids, the human race would die out.Well, saying something has no reason and not doing it are two different things.
Otherwise, that would imply two things: that nothing happens without a reason OR things without a reason to exist would be obsolete; I think both statements are false (especially the latter - think about art).
One may also say, within Absurdist theory: if our whole existence is pointless, then having children is pointless, too - but why the hell not. Not doing it is also pointless, which leaves the choice to us. Which is also pointless. (Gets confusing right, haha)

I said yes and while we were getting all philosophical about the matter I shall let the men of Monty Python explain:
Pretty much what they're saying is that children are a blessing. Even if they might make you wanna ring the life out of them at times, at the end of the day you're still gonna love your kids.

No, I don't WANT kids.
I'm not a very patient guy when it comes to children. If when in marriage we end up with kids, then I will accept it, but It's not something I want.

Yes, I want to have kids. Maybe not soon, but definitely one day.
My parents say the same things about someone to take care of me in my old days later. Guess that's not really a wrong reason to have at least one kid. Think about it, kid could bring joy to marriage life, bring happiness as parent.
I remember one father say this while changing diaper: "I'm covered in shit, but I'm happy to be a father."
Of course having a kids means you must be prepared since they can grow up to a criminal, rebels, killers or whatever bad thing you can think about and make you sad. But don't forget, that they can grow up to good people too that contribute to society and do the good things and then make you proud as their parents.
Yes, I want to be a parent, I want to be a grandparent too someday. I'll try my best to be a good one.
