That doesn't mean everyone is doing it, and if they do it doesn't mean they're doing it to fuck around, i usually edit the ReadMe file, to let people know that i was the one that uploaded it on to Megaupload along with the URL's to Fakku, so that people know where to go if they want more MU uploads but i never erase the original ReadMe.


Thats not up for you to decide, if 30 people downloads a video or whatever and liked it why shouldn't they be able to thank the uploader?

Of course it's my opinion, and it's yours that uploaders need the rep for motivation. Funny that you say my opinion is biased; I'm not an uploader, and am taking an objective stand on the matter. You are the one presenting extremely biased opinons.

They could simply say thanks. It seems to me that you are taking offense to the fact that I said people get too much rep for uploading something, which I don't understand.

Umm... even if I take it as face value it only seems to me that only people who are bitter about other people's rep can feel like this. How would a person feel that someone is feeling superior when they don't feel inferior unless someone blatantly tells them "I am superior to you"? Cause if they didn't, they'd just keep quiet about it and go on with their lives, I am sure they'd feel better doing that.

No, im taking offense to you saying that uploaders should stop posting other people stuff etc, when all of this forum's uploads are infact "other people's" uploads.

Im not saying it's hard to do, but it's time & bandwith consuming as hell, but we still search and find games(vids/doujins) that people request without getting anything for it, spend sometimes weeks to get a game from a dying torrent, we check that it works and isn't infested with viruses and shit, which if it is it's our computers that gets fucked up.

Rep is being used on Fakku as it's being used one every other forum on the internet that has a reputation system, by people who wanna thank someone for a good post, their effort finding something, or for an upload that the uploader has spent his personal time and bandwith to get to the community.

There isn't any "Too much rep for uploading", if that's how people choose to spend their rep points then let them, why do you even care?

To chip in to answer your question (ignoring the rest of this thread). What I personally want from Fakku is a place I can go to talk intelligently with my fellow Fakkuza. I want the community to have that "family" feeling like we're all brothers, sister, cousins,etc again. Family members can squabble and everything would still be cool like it used to. The problem is people aren't squabbling anymore over misunderstandings or whatever but, a certain group of users have a history of causing trouble. Just like the laws of the land. The laws of fakku should be impartial, unforgiving, uncaring. You break them, you lose, period. There is too much favoritism on the forums when it comes to the rules. I know other staff members have tried to correct this problem to no avail. So at this point, the only person who can do anything at this point is Jacob.

I also want the rules to be enforced for once. Someone flames a user or harasses a user then they should get punished. I don't give a fuck if they personally suck Jacob off every day. They are a user and are held to the same standards as every other user. The only exceptions are the mods who would be held to a slightly higher more "professional" standard. A perfect example for that "standard" is Gambler. I have never once had a reason to even entertain the thought of him doing anything unmod like.

Now, I'll leave this thread before I catch some sort of disease or something.

Somewhat intelligent, does in no way mean that we are geniuses, I'm simply saying that we are intelligible people, we don't lack comprehension of basic things, we aren't mentally challenged.

Now, with that, we can obviously read context, do you know what context is? You're a functioning person, so that means you use context every day of your life.

I fail to see how I was being funny at all, it's not hard to infer what someone thinks by the way they act.

I can kind of understand what Naoto is saying. The statement "People with higher rep feel they are better than those with lower rep" is baseless and seems like it came from someone with lower rep who is upset with the people with high rep. It's like me (a white guy) saying, "All black people feel oppressed."

I personally have never seen anybody with a big rep count act like they are better than those with lower rep counts, just because of the difference in reputation. I've seen people act like jerks, but I've seen that from every kind of person on Fakku. Reputation never seems to play a factor (unless the person is way in the negatives).

Which brings up to another issue - if we want to fix the rep system so that it is no longer broken, what do we do about people asking for negative rep? It's happened a good couple of times, and it will probably happen again in the future. Is it even a real problem? I'd like to think so, since those points could be put to better use. I'd much rather see Jacob get +30 rep for making some site improvements than see some attention-whore or person who thinks he/she is funny get -30 rep for saying, "Plz -rep me." However, that does deal with issues of "freedom." People are free to spend their reps in as silly a way as they want, after all. But doesn't spending rep on a person simply for the sake of some joke further ruin the system?
