For example is it right to rep for uploads?
To be honest, I believe there should be a one rep limit for uploads, and that way someone doesn't make hundreds of topics uploading, getting 5+ rep each.
If that's true then all posts should be limited to 1 rep. And why not post MILLIONS of topics uploading different materials (now if these were reuploads then that's wrong)? As long as the community approves of the game, video, doujinshi or whatever it is you upload why hesitate? Or are you saying those uploads aren't really looked at or downloaded? Those uploads are a great help to the community cause honestly when you first visit fakku you don't come here for the forums but for the uploads (hentai games, videos, etc.) Thanks to these uploads instead of people saying "Let's visit hongfire etc or whatever other community" to search for something they'll just go to fakku for it. And that's great advertisement. Oh and there's no such thing as a "REUPLOADER" unless there are two of the same items in the same site.

Talking about rep and how it "should be used"(code for how you want it to be used) won't get us far, except we'll just have a big understanding of one another's beliefs about rep and people will still do whatever the fuck they want with it, no matter what conclusion we come to in this thread.
Personally, since I don't give a fuck about the "system" or "proper" rep usage, I have fun with rep and treat it like a game. If you care to know though, I give reps to those who make me really appreciate their post.(and sometimes for teh fuck of it, to certain peoples, for certain reasons)
/more thread derailment, yay

I usually don't read rant threads (or at least not the whole thing) since they're usually typed by hypocrits with poor grammar, but this one was at least well thought out (For a random forum topic at least). Anyways, I stopped posting in bakajojo for the very same reasons you mentioned in this thread, so I can understand where you're comming from. Thanks for the read and I'll try and do my part to make this forum a fun place to hang in.

not really a problem, but why do we even need to limit those uploads threads.
honestly in my case, those +reps are strong motivators. And it is one of those stonger motivators that will make me try to upload more visual novel for the community.
seriously all these rep givings are really subjective, debating over it sounds like we're debating someone who voted for a president just because he likes the guy.. :)

Interesting so currently it's more supported that reps are more subjective than in a so called "outline". So in short, someone does something good and receives the favor of some users and gets a rep for each satisfied person. And yet people are saying such rep givers are "cancers of the forum" like they're the forums (yet these are people who share the same luxury). Interesting, it's nice to see two view points.

I want rep to be limited on everything, seeing a user with many threads that all have over 20 rep is extremely ridiculous. And if the only thing that is making them upload stuff is the rep, I don't think we really want them around anyway.

Again, as far as I can tell no one has supported the opposite view, everyone seems to agree to the same points; no one believes rep because you like/don't like someone is legitimate rep, uploads do deserve rep(some suggest a limit to rep on all posts)... You are talking in circles when everyone simply supports the same idea...lol.

While uploading is good, I value intellectual, thought-out posts more than an uploaded video or doujin. But do the people who make thought-out posts have the highest rep? No, the uploaders do.
I can understand being seeing the situation as being unfair. If I want rep, something that many see as an indicator of usefulness and a sign of a good user, all I have to do is upload stuff. I don't have to prove that I am smart, reasonable, or well-tempered.
In fact, a person could be a gigantic asshole but acquire over a hundred rep, if he uploaded stuff to the site. Doesn't that seem a bit wrong?

Off the original topic, and on the topic of reputation points
If there is a bias in this thread, I'd say it's really toward users with high reputation points (mainly and most specifically, KLoWn). I think it's pretty damn clear that even if some users didn't come out and show it (they hid it, unlike TMS did in the post above), they have a general bias toward KLoWn and users who are capable of gaining loads of reputation from one post. Why limit reputation points? And more so, why in the upload sections?
I do feel, that as Waar explained time and time again, the system is broken. It's thanks to him, actually, that I decided to try and use my rep more effectively to work toward fixing the system. However, as Rbz pointed out.. when it comes down to it, most people are going to use their reputation points for whatever they want. There is no law set in stone that prohibits how you use reputation, even though multiple accounts for rep is forbidden.
That said, if people feel that they want to continuously rep those with high reputation points and those who upload several videos, manga (or whatever it is) in the upload section, why not let them and why limit the amount of rep? They'll do what they'll do.
Complaining is pretty much useless.
And envying those with high rep won't get you anywhere, really.
Edit: Inb4 complaining.

I like it when people are being useful. If they act like an asshole derep them as much as you want for their asshole posts. That's no reason to limit their rep for being useful. These are two completely separate things here. Considering that the system allows for people to rep and derep for no reason whatsoever, limiting rep for being useful is hardly an improvement.

Again, as far as I can tell I didn't say that it's good to rep/derep someone based on your feelings about the person. If you would recall, my post that came before my previous post I did say that it was immature.
No support on the opposite view? That's because you only see what you want to see. You're talking in circles when you just disregard everyone else's ideas... lol

Is it not true that many of KLoWn's posts are hostile in nature? Is it not also true that he gained his thousand and some change rep from uploading? I simply gave an example to support a claim, I do not believe that implies that I am envious of the guy.

how was that paranoid? or perhaps you mean a different word.
p.s. there is no other points because everyone has just been giving the same ideas, everything you've said has supported my points, we're not even disagreeing here. Just drop it because I'm not even fighting you and you just sound dumb(not trying to insult you but i cant find a less rude way to say: you dont even understand your own point).
