How fucking stupid are people going to get?

Cycling on the road, yeah its stupid, but not as stupid as doing the same thing with a horse instead of a bike. I don't think its like that where you guys come from, but its like that where I come from. They are as slower than the cyclist, and they leave crap all over the road. As a result, the road smells just as delightfully expected.
Also horse related, most of these same people just leave their horses "parked" in the sun all day without the slightest bit of shade, leashed with rope of course. Not only that, sometimes I have seen them stationed on the green side of the same public road they are made to ride. God, are these people mentally retarded? I mean, would they like to trade places with them for an hour at least to experience what they feel? >.>
More of them will occur to me, however its late and I can't think that well right now. I have seen my share of stupid shit in my life, as I know most of you guys have done so as well. Will post some of them when I remember some of them.

I think it's either a sense of moral derogation when people are just so damn inconsiderate that they have driven people to a point of enacting LAWS to force them to be considerate (in my country there is a law that children must take good care of their aged parents, yeah wtf is a law like this even needed in the first place right) or people have absolutely no common sense.
Politics. The route to go when your common sense screw you over.

-Two-sided: people who go to the 12 items or less check-out lane with 14 items, and the cashiers who are so adamant about the rule that they'll spend time arguing whether it's acceptable or not.
-Those airheads in which the only topic of their 3-hour long conversations simply consist of music, celebrities, movies, celebrities, and cheap gossip. Why the fuck does this kinda shit interest so many people.
-That middle-aged lady who will stop and count to make sure that she got ALL 47 cents back in change.
-People who tailgate you when CAN'T YOU SEE THAT I'M STUCK BEHIND A FUCKING SCHOOLBUS YOU DAMNED PRICK.
-1 man 1 jar. Fine. Stick large objects up your ass- whatever gets you off.
But GLASS ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID.
Glass is infamous- worldwide- for it's awesome ability to BREAK into sharp, itty-bitty pieces.
-Smokers who "just can't shake this damned cough".
-The government.
It's always been corrupt- but now it's also just plain stupid.

Damnit, Pump, you make it difficult to decide what to comment on first. XD

But this one I was JUST RANTING about today. I was sitting with my uncle in a little shop the other day and heard the NEWS ABOUT JUSTIN BEIBER. I'm sitting there talking to my uncle about family and stuff and then I HEAR THAT CRAP in the background. I just start thinking AGAIN how much I HATE the American MEDIA. Fucking media... just STFU about celebs so we can get on with the important things in life. OR JUST STFU if you don't have something intelligent to say or REPORT. Stop putting this crap into people's heads so that it is recycled in conversations. I blame the media and the idiots who think that people really give a shit.
When is knowing who marry's/divorce's/cheats/starts dating/breaks up with... in celeb world really going to help me? It is not for conversation. Stop teaching little boys and girls that this crap really matters. Talk about something relevant so you can stay in business, you fucking soul suckers! And adults for that matter. I have heard ADULTS... well up into their 50s MENTION this shit, thinking its what everyone is talking about. I am so ashamed by those people. STOP PERPETUATING THIS CRAP!
Ok and music, movies, and cheap gossip are fun, but yea, substance people; hell no 3-hour convo on that.

That reminds me of an idea that I've had some time ago.
A webcast talkshow called "Things that matter", in which we would talk exactly about that- things that matter.
Simplistic title so people would actually get it.
I should get a move on that.

Yes, get on that! And link me at least! <3 Topics that could be researched some and discussed at length about "Things that matter." That's what I want to hear, seriously. Get on that Pump, Asap. ;)

Heh, don't hold your breath. Me and my pals always take fifty forevers to film stuff, since we live fairly far apart and our free time rarely matches up.
We're still in the midst of filming our latest project, which we started way back in July.

I am just blown away, flabbergasted, pissed and I'm posting these two things to read. I want to SERIOUSLY talk about how STUPID people can be! So if you have some examples of this stupidity to share, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post it here. I just need to know! How stupid are people really going to be?Please don't torture yourself. I've seen so much stupid shit that my desk risks to be permanently melded to my head.
Don't go actively looking for it. Stupidity shall find it's way to you far more often than one could wish for.
XD hahahahaha.... you are probably right. I shouldn't be so adamant about finding it when it will come to me as sure as we revolve around the sun.
*hugs Pump for the wise advice*
Ok, I know I said I wasn't going to out of my way but... I wanted to Google "stupid things people do" and this website came up first:
http://www.bored.com/dumbthings/index.htm
And there are PLENTY to look and laugh at... so I invite anyone to pick one if you want to participate in the lolz with me. :)
I'm randomly picking this one because its in CA, but I mean randomly... too many good ones to choose from. <3 People are SO STUPID. XD I can't even... I just... People are SO STUPID SOMETIMES. Haha.
"Los Angeles, California: Police in Los Angeles had good luck with a robbery suspect who just couldn't control himself during a lineup. When detectives asked each man in the lineup to repeat the words, "Give me all your money or I'll shoot," the man shouted, "That's not what I said!""

It is just greedy stupidity. Just like New York State (and others?) requiring you to purchase new license plates for your car just because the state wanted more money. The economy is fail, the dollar is dying, and people are just creating ways to squeeze more money out of the general population because they can.

-General ignorance. I don't know these people's circumstances or backgrounds- but the display of lacking education can be astounding sometimes. Some of the more brilliant examples include:
-"Mexico is that island south of the States, right?" This girl was in my pal's class. They're in university.
-"Wait. Does Europe have a king or a president now?" Same girl.
-As a joke, my buddy who used to pump gas asked a customer "You want regular or Diesel?" "Oh- I guess I'll try Diesel this time- I heard it was good".
-"Damn Chinese with their ninjas and samurais". Some guy at a Gamestop.
-This woman:
-When two people stop at an intersection and both of them are just so courteous to allow the other one to go ahead. But then spend the next 20 seconds in a sort of childish "You go" "Oh no, you" "Oh, come off now- I insist" "Nonononono- YOU can go". JUST ONE OF YOU FUCKING GO ALREADY.
-Go to any party. Any. Stupidity shall make itself known, and there are too many examples to list.
-People who don't keep the receipts for their electronic devices and then get pissed off at the customer service when they try to return it when it inevitably breaks two months later.
-Internet predators. That 14-year-old girl whom you're talking to is a 30-year-old cop who's about to send your sorry ass to jail.
-Mass shootings (Columbine, Virginia Tech, the like). Yes. Good job asshole. What the hell have you accomplished?
Jack. Fucking. Squat.
Ruined people's lives and tarnished your family's reputation.
-Hype. Oh the hype. Sure, go ahead and raise expectations to astronomical levels. Laud something as "The best. thing. EVER".
NOTHING that has ever been claimed as such ever was.
The best thing ever would need to be something that affects the world upon an astronomical level.
A cure for cancer or aids. A zero-emission fuel. Not only solving the imbalance between the division of resources among the world's peoples, but also increasing it so that everyone could prosper and enjoy the life of upper-middle class or greater.
Quit the hyperbole.
-People not voting and then complaining about how they don't like the way things are run. You live in a democracy for a damned reason, you nimrods. Sure, any politician is corrupt, but at least try to make it your party that gets in there.
-Celebrities. Just- celebrities.
What they fuck are they doing.
I won't even bother with that one.

Hmm, dont want to be the kill but
I dont see how dog barking fine is idiotic?
I mean, have you ever been driven up at night by the sound of a fucking dog that can't fucking shut up?
I swear I wanted to strangle that fucking little ragball
Second, Its a good idea to force inmates to pay. While I disagree with charging visitors, why shouldn't prisoners pay for their own shit? I mean, why are we spending money making sure they are locked up? Its not just the poor and insane that are in there, If that was the case you could make the argument that no one is responsible for any of their actions because they are "insane"
Admittedly maybe in a different environment they would not have turned out that way
Does that mean you'll just overlook everything?
Regardless of how unfair life is, they turned out to be bad apples and so we lock them away for a reason.

Stupid people, like the lady at the store yesterday: When there is only one worker and she has to help two customers, she only does what she can. We waited for her help, now you wait til she's done with us. Don't forget these are people just working and doing their job you idiot. She said hello to you and was conversing with us about the products. Don't hold it in and act like a kid who didn't get her way. :/ Stupid. Where is the basic common courtesy?
And... stupid: Don't tell me to stop whistling in a house that isn't yours, little prat. You're another adult that baffles me. Whistling is a nice thing, I wasn't too loud and I wasn't doing it to annoy you, but then you go and tell me about how I remind you of old shoemakers in Mexico when I whistle and tell me it annoys you.... XD
I will whistle whenever I please. Hahahaa....

Ok, now I was waiting for a little dispute on the dog one because, of the two, this was the only one I could understand the other point of view. Sure, dogs bark and its annoying, but putting a law on it seems ridiculous to me. That is just avoiding the part where people knock on doors and say, "Hey, is there something wrong with your dog? He's been barking for hours." Yea, I think people should solve people problems on their own and not invite the government to regulate their lives more than they already do. At least, not with something like dogs. I mean... really? Just go and talk to the neighbor. When I say things like this, I usually get, "You never know with people, now and days." This is what I expect to hear back about my solution. However, consider for a moment, if instead of being afraid of the confrontation, you go and be an rational person and talk to a hopefully-rational person and work it out. ;P Hiding behind more and more laws... it just makes it worse I think. Go and solve a problem without calling the cops. Leave the police out there to do real work, not that they do that much where I have lived. :/
I think this second one, *sigh* is just beyond too much. I don't like that I pay for people to be in jail-lets be clear there, but that is a society problem and society needs to pay for it. I am not pushing at the prison system in here, although I have strong feelings there, but I brought the poor and insane up to make the point about the people they are expecting to pay these bills for being in jail. It is not being done to deter bad behavior, its being done to pull in the cash. That is not the idea behind locking people up, if that was what it was about... I would be more comfortable with it. They are doing this to get money from a part of society that doesn't have money in the first place. What happens to someone when they are a deviant, punished and then asked to pay for their punishment? Does that make sense? Sitting more bills and debt on the part of society already breaking the rules and paying with their time is only going to make it worse. What kind of rules were they breaking? How serious was the offense? How long are they going to be there? Also, administrative anything takes time, I wouldn't be surprised if the law makers instill more rules to make push the paperwork around more, so these people are in jail even longer. I'm asking you to not focus on these people in the jails, but the ones who are going to be using/abusing more power. That is just crossing a big line to me and I am pissed about it. Not everyone in there in going around and killing people. This is just going to push them down harder, people that I am not trying to sympathize with too much-lets be clear there too, they break the laws and belong there, but these are people. Let's not treat each other like this. Put yourself in their minds.
And... I hope what I said above will clear up my meanings, but I see where you want to take the argument and I don't want to go there, at least not yet. Those are going into a smaller argument, when I was meaning to address the bigger picture. But we can dwindle into the nature v. nurture argument if you like. Just address the bigger picture with me first. Are we products of our environments... ? ... and all that jazz... I'm tucking it away for later. :)

In regards to the first one
As much as I'd like to believe in good human nature...
People don't exactly have control over their animals
I mean, Its not like I call the cops on dogs, thats just sad, but even if you go up to the owner and the owner tells the dog to hush...
The dog ends up barking not 5 minutes later.
If it was a person, its one thing
Its a dog, and most dogs have an innate nature to bark. But there are always those who like barking more than the others. Forcing a fine would motivate the owners to get the dogs to shut up and stick with it, or to take measures to reduce their excess barking.
Honestly, I vacillate between the corporate conspiracy crap and the naive no conspiracy stuff but
The fact is that we do pay for these people in prison
And I want to point out that in that article they noted that many do indeed have money enough to pay for their stay
As for the people who stay in jail, they aren't all dirt poor, I want to point out that for those who have minor offenses, they'll stay a month or 6, max. ITs the serious offenses like manslaughter, rape, burglary, etc that merit years in jail and its really those people who are being targeted, so its the worst offenders who are really impacted. I don't see how the higher ups are abusing their power, all they are doing is forcing prisoners to pay for their own costs and not forcing the deficits on the budget, its just another measure to try and racket down our immense debt. I want to also focus on what you said about the money issue. I don't see why thats a problem?
California has by far the largest debt of all states, and LA isnt fine and dandy either.
Everyone is going crazy trying to save money, trying to keep those cops from being cut because of a lack of funding. In this kind of economy, do you want to keep paying for people who are the worst of the worst, or make them pay for themselves?
And concerning the punishment for the deviants. If they did something bad, why shouldn't they be punished? Why are WE responsible for their misdoings? Plus, its not like they're going to become good people after jail, this ties in sort of with the death penalty, but 10-15% of death row inmates had murdered before, and some 67% had a felony on their records prior. I understand that I'm being extremely narrow with the evidence, but my broader point is this, that often criminals repeat the crime. A final note, I don't fully understand all the different facets of your argument, so if something seems irrelevant, it probably is.
As for the bigger picture thing.
I think that a large portion of a person's personality is a result of the environment. I will say, however, that I am not entirely sure to what degree it is, but I think an extremely large portion of a person is how they are raised. However, there are other factors that must be considered, because some end up quite the opposite of what is expected. People such as myself.
OT:
roughly 40% of all Americans can't find their country on the map.Not finding United Arab Emirates, that tiny fucking blip next to Yemen and below Saudi Arabia, is one thing. Being unable to find the 4th largest country is just retarded. The fact that they couldn't name the capital of the US is even more disheartening
What the fuck is America city?
