its up to you and karkis. you're more or less are going to be doing the final draft to the completed project but karkis has to see if the art we came up with matches his vision of the story he's trying to convey.

you're not actually suppose to use the layout that shogun and i made to literally. its suppose to be used as a guild line to show how the story could be told and presented. because we're still more or less still drafting you can adjust and combine both of the two draft ideas shogun and i made to a visual you like and what you believe the readers might want to see too until we reach an agreement of the final layout.

drafting the character helps.
it helps to have a picture to reference, to keep a standards and constancy of the character. also to when you're not to sure how they should look in a curtain angle or expression they have to make later on.

I think that these are really good!
Although, I'm no artist, I still agree with SAM though when he says that you should take both and mix them to make what you think is right :) I also think that so far, the art does a very good job of matching my vision

I finished the first writing of krakis. Now I will combine what krakis and SAM have for the next drafts. I also tried combining both Freaky and SAM's character design concepts in this post.

P.S. Freaky I noticed on your recent post page four sketch is missing. You did page five and six sketch...

I think it's pretty good. The only thing is that his pants look kinda like diaper's. Also I should've probably mentioned this before, but I find the girl's hair looks to poofy.

why would we want to have Jacob's input for a Momoka story? personally i'd rather go and make it and surprise him with it. also you could of just jumped in the project like i did.
if you need a place to start, you could draw the main characters or you could go and revise my layouts to make it more corherent or go about what the later page would look like

If it gets to that point, we'll decide then.

Legit, but do you accept it? Your original sketch had a very passive pose, so I designed a soft-looking character. A cool hue seemed fitting. I also gave her ample eyelashes because the girls in your art have luxurious eyelashes.

I'll produce a clean sheet of Travis/Jean later today, since you provided a more detailed sketch basis.

As for the name, perhaps Jean would be a better choice than Travis. Travis reminds me of No More Heroes, whereas Jean can be a cute reference to his favorite pants, Panty/Stocking naming convention not withstanding. Also, girls love guys in jeans, so I imagine you'd have a bias in that direction. ;)

Imma draw them both naked, so do you have any preference for his cock? Obv. not super-veiny.

im not going to lie, i dont like that the main character has long emo hair and is characterized as shy.
i saw him more as average nice guy that cant get a girlfriend mostly because they over look him just for being nice and go for the cooler looking guy.
also with my run through with shy people they generally they dont approach people let alone if they're crying

Okay so as far as that drawing goes/the outfit style for the girl, I'm okay with both. I like your top better but I agree that the thigh highs are awkward. I think we should just go with normal thigh highs. xD

I think she should have brown/red hair instead of the gray color, but I totally love that hair pin.

And Sam, I don't really think an average guy would get passed over. I've never seen a guy who looks great but doesn't get /any/ girls at all. I figured the awkward hairstyle (emo shit) and being shy is a good reason for why he hasn't gotten anyone. If you've got a better idea that's fine.

I just felt like it was too cliche to have him look awesome, and not have any social issues, and yet still not get a girl.

And just give him an average penis. He can't be amazing in every respect. I'm trying to avoid the marysue type thing, even though its sort of inevitable in a Hmanga like this. xD

Keep the emo haircut! I'll tone it down a little, but I like the idea of him having some distinguishing characteristic. And tchyea, sure, like the shy emo guys don't get any sex. This might be too early, but I'd like to establish a loose workflow and make some stylistic choices before we get too far into production.

Workflow:
You two guys have already done layout and sketching. Are y'all alright with you two doing layout and rough lineart, with me fixing/standardizing details and applying shadows and shades? Having one person do a final pass on the entire manga will keep the style from having jarring changes.

Style:
Freakychan, in a recent picture you posted to DA, you used halftoning for shading the entire image. I don't mind halftoning for backgrounds, but I'm in favor of standard shading for the characters. I feel much freer and more expressive as an artist with standard shading. Are you okay with that?
