Strangest/Most Disgusting Food you've tasted/heard of

Congee in Dog's Intestine
you eat the congee by sucking it out of the dog's intestine
the food is prepared by starving a dog for 3 days and having it eat the congee
then the dog is butchered, probably after it has eaten the congee, and then the intestine containing the congee is served
i heard that it's a delicacy from somewhere in Ilocos, northern part of the Philippines
the first time i've heard of it, it's a little hard to believe, but i'm the type of person who keeps an open mind... yet having listen to the same story from a different unrelated person afterwards should be enough to make me believe in it

Balut sounds pretty weird to me. It's a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. I don't think I could get past the visual of the food to eat it. Look it up in Wikipedia if you want to see pictures.
Weird stuff I've actually eaten myself
pig's blood
tripe, intestines
cow brains (waaay back when, b4 the mad cow stuff)
taco bell (the most dangerous one of all)

The Japanese do that with snakes too. The poison from the snake mixes into the booze and makes you all numb when you drink it. I had one professor that lived in Japan on and off that had some various stories about a homemade bottle of the stuff he shared with some old woman.

Never had carrot cake? It can be very good, especially with a cream cheese frosting. Its actually similar to many other desert cakes, just has little shavings of carrot in it, doesn't really taste all that carrot like.

so the cake would be pale pinkish-orange
oh, most of the foods presented in a number of food/cooking mangas are strange
like, you could actually make bread using a rice cooker instead of an oven

The hundred year old egg always seemed odd to me. When I was a little kid I took a trip to Europe and we were offered them at a B&B. I didn't try it, although I kinda wish I did just for the sake of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Century_egg
And before anyone posts haggis as a weird/gross food, I've had it and it was damn tasty.

i got a taste from my half-Chinese friend
he said that it may be a delicacy around here but in China, it's common food
it was a little sweet and creamy, and it's kinda like a side dish like mashed potatoes in gravy
back then, i always thought that meat have to be eaten cooked...
but then there was fish sushi and sashimi
and then i had some raw meat for breakfast...
i think they were German breakfast meals
but if you think about it, hamburgers used to be salted raw pork without the buns

The century eggs aren't really aged for that long, so no worries =). It usually takes only a few weeks to pickle the egg. It's also an acquired taste as the yolk can have a pretty strong flavor. It's good in preserved duck egg and pork congee. I'd definitely prefer that congee over the one mentioned by Jonsmth in the first post.
I've never tried or wanted to try steak tartare.

raw instant noodles
it's snack food meant to be eaten raw, but i prefer chips to this since this one requires a little preparation after opening the package
snack foods like chips have to be easy to prepare, right?

I love it raw too, those mama noodles I would crush the noodle into pieces and pour the flavoring in the back and shake shake shake. Ready to eat.
