This is really disturbing. Whose bright idea was it to try to eat smashed up , deep fried testicles......
Well it only seems natural to eat every part of the animal that you can. Of course people will find ways to make them taste good. Besides, at least in Texas, people will deep fry everything from pickles to cookie dough to bananas. Theres a news story just about every year on the various things people are selling fried at that year's state fair.
I haven't had rocky mountain oysters but I wouldn't be surprised if they're pretty good.
I used to think chicken feet sounded really weird but now I order them every time I go out for dim sum.
Chicken feet is really delicious I order two when I go to Dim Sum :P . Sucks for someone who is picky with their food missing out all of this "strangely" but good made food.
I think the weirdest food I've tasted is this Cambodian spicy and sweet noodle with fish sauce packed in a plastic box. There was a lot of fish sauce which made it salty-ish so I don't recommend you eat more than a box...If you can (oh noes high blood pressure). I believe the pronunciation is "mickathung" it's good but not as healthy.
BTW It's sold in most Asian convenient stores but is illegal because of it's odor. Damn health inspector.

The chicken feet from dim sum is called "fung jao" which does mean phoenix claw (sauce is reddish)

Lol. I thought this was common knowledge. ><
I also like what they call "Ngao Jai Gwut", which is basically small beef ribs pieces. Delicious.

I haven't really seen THAT many nasty foods listed here (aside from the obvious few). I'm more surprised by what some people have listed as odd, like pizza in a restaurant or uncooked ramen or dim sum, that stuff is like normal to me =). I like the tripe they serve in dim sum form too.

Same. Maybe someone should make a thread about Dim Sum and list their fav. to add more to this section of the forums.

I've eaten pig's brains. Cooked scrambled with a little salt and some eggs, they were alright. Does NOT taste like chicken, but in a good way.

ok, aparently dog food gets added in the pizza sauce. So, in otherwords, " Would you like puppy chow or apo with your pizza?" :cry:I think thats just THAT pizza place, in Iceland where we live their are a lot of restrounts that offer pizzas and they dont have strange stuff in them. Guess its all depends on how quality control is in your region what is put into food in a local restrount :P

Dunno, never heard of them called anything else besides that and bull testicles. Here's what wikipedia has on them:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Mountain_oysters

hehe their are actualy a lot of countries that eat the testicles, hear in Spain that their is a dish that contains bull testicles.
Then their is in Iceland where a dish called "Hrútspungar"(sheepballs) where the balls are boiled then some ingreadiense added and you got yourself a jelly like thing with sheepballs in it :) Ive never been able to force myself to taste that.
Talking about Icelandic food their is the sheep face dish. just 1/2 of a sheep skull with everything still on it except the hair EDIT: and the brains. Really tasty.
Fermented shark with vodka :) not so tasty but its more for the vodka I think :P

Everything from This article.Hmm, the ant eggs don't sound bad at all. The Wine doesn't really sound appealing, but isn't really gross. I don't think the sheep head would bother me either, depending on whether or not it tasted any good. The other ones are indeed kinda gross sounding, especially the thing with the larva trying to bore through your intestines.
