Strange question for me because I know that if I died for my girlfriend (soon to be wife) she would kill herself. Also if she died for me I don't know how I could go on living. So it's kind of like I'm killing my girlfriend anyway if I die. The real question is "Do I want to be the cause of her death, or do I want it to be something else?"
Now being the romantic that I am, I find it romancy to save her and at the same time I'd like to be the factor in her decisions. In this case her decision would be to kill herself because she wants to risk seeing me even though she doesn't know what lies beyond death. Even if there is nothing, she says that there would be no point to her life without me. I am ok with this.... And find it very romantic.

Yes. I am ready to sacrifice my life for my glorious nation. Heck I'd even strap bombs or join freedom fighters if my motherland's invaded by foreign aggressors. I'll fight to protect the sovereignty and the existence of my own motherland, but for romantic reasons? No.

i would pretty much sacrifice myself for anyone who i feel deserves to live more than i do. like an old man vs a child im going to sacrifice myself for the child before i sacrifice myself for the old man. but hey im just to fucking selfless to be of use to the human race :/

It is kinda ethically correct and is like a job for us to die for someone we love. THough, from some one under the real circumstances, they would have said it's impossible to walk out and die for them. You always have a thought or two that prevents you from self-scarfice.
