Abortions - Right or Wrong?
0
After reading in a newspaper today about a abortion doctor who was murdered some time ago in the U.S by a anti-abortion activist, I started to wonder about these people's reasons and opinions about abortion.
I mean, for what I know, the main reason that these guys are against abortion is beacause they think it's murder, even if the child is still a fetus, and that all life is sacred and all have a right to be born etc...
Dosen't the fact that they are killing these doctors contradict the opinion that ALL life is sacred? Or what, life isn't sacred any more when people is over 20, or beacuse he has "killed a child" through abortion it means that he has forsaken his own life? That should mean that the guy who killed him, and all who was for it also have forsaken THEIR lives and that it's ok to kill them to?
I don't know about this, to me it seems stupid and ignorant. Can be because most of them are christians. But that seems also wrong, since I know a lot of decent christians aswell.
Anyway, I just wanna hear what you people think. I think that abortions should be legal and ok, and that it is up to the parents to decide. Atleast I want to hear a valid reason before I will even start to think these guys arent just cracked in their heads.
Sorry for my sucky english =P

Well for me it's either or. It depends on the situation. If some teens decide to fuck around and they have a kid and the mother decides she doesn't want the kid anymore, that's where it's wrong. Now if somebody is sexually assaulted/raped and they are not old enough to take care of the child or it reminds them of the horrible nightmares of the assault, then they should definitely be allowed to have an abortion. Although the second scenerio might affect the child, if they are adopted while still at a very young age, I should think it will not affect them.

The killing of the doctors is a symbol of the hypocrisy in some of the organizations against abortion. Personally, if i were a woman, i would not have abortions, however, it is neither other people's, nor the government's right to make that decision for me.

I'm pro-choice. I can't really say what I would do because I would never be in the situation, but a woman's body is her own choice, not the governments. I think doctor's should be allowed to choose to practice it or not, but ultimately the government should stay out of it because it is not their concern what a mother does to her unborn child.
I know a lot of activists on both sides post information regarding on whether or not you can consider a child a child and and what point the child is truly alive, but I think no one is going to win that debate. Just leave it up to the mother.

I'm not pro-choice. I'm pro-abortion, plain and simple. No sugarcoating. This stance is for me too...the doctors are free to practice abortion, and it's up to the woman to decide if she want to abort or no, even without any particular reason. Why? Because I know I don't wanna be the child of someone who wanted to abort me but unable to do so, and in turn make life's a hell for me, right after I'm born...
And if the woman are so stubborn not to abort even if her life in danger, I think we should allow the doctor to force an abortion, if he sees fit. Kinda extreme, I guess, but that's my opinion...
Well, we know what kind of people most anti-abortion people are...so I don't see why we should pay them attention. Oh, maybe because they're "higher-ups" of the common majority...

I honestly think it's the woman's choice. I do think abortion is not the best choice one could make, but if I were put in that position, I could understand why someone would make that choice.

I guess you can say I'm semi-pro-abortion. I think it's okay only if the fetus has not developed a brain yet to have conscious thought. Catch it soon enough and it's all good.

Is the baby able to choose?

Is the baby able to choose? If it knew how, yes. It's got life once it has consciousness. If you think the government shouldn't have a choice to ban abortion because it's the mother's choice, then the mother should not be able to choose on whether she should take the life of her baby or not, because it's a human life. More important than financial difficulty or any other BS reason to abort the baby.

Honestly, I see any type of abortion as right. Even partial birth. It's still part of you only bigger.
Like a cell you split in 2 is the way I see it. Sort of... It's part of you so you are able and should be able to decide whether you want it or not. And no anti-abortion terrorists should stop you from that.
I say anything that is conscious is illegal to kill. Baby's are not conscious so its alright. Though they call that abortion. But who cares. :p

Because it's human? Did you not just...

Catch it soon enough and it's all good.Um, anyways, even if it is human, killing it doesn't take away much from the world. It's not like there's anyone else in the world that knows it and cares for it. It doesn't have any memories or relationships. Plus, what does it matter if it gains a brain or not. It's still the same life. What, it's special because it now has a mind for the potential of being self aware and understanding? Doesn't matter at that moment.

As for the killing the doctor=hypocrisy. Their logic may be along the lines of "Kill one, save a dozen or a hundred" Stopping the doctor from performing the abortions prevents him from ever doing it again. While I can see their logic and I am very sympathetic to their ideals, I don't condone their actions. I'm sure even WhiteLion will agree with me that murder = murder now matter how you sugarcoat it.
I however can accept abortion when it is to save the life of the mother and only to save the life of a mother. I would prefer the death of one vs the death of both.

If one doesn't have the means to support the child (including low intelligence), I'd say abortion is acceptable. The whole adoption/foster system is fucked up, and I wouldn't wish that on any child. Of course, if it's within the means of the parent(s) to properly raise the child, then of course they should.

There are already threads about this here's two alone
Abortion 1
Abortion 2
But seeing as this one doesn’t have a poll so different? I’m a deep supporter of pro life I say it’s a life and so to me it’s murder. Having the power to decide if one is to live or die isn’t something that should be allowed, unless it's killing criminals but then I’m pretty sure they’re not. We don’t let people kill 1 year olds because there human so why a fetus. Now if the mother is going to die unless you abort due to some health problem that’s different, then I say the mother should be saved.
Until this law is overturned I think one thing is fucking absurd. If you murder a women with child how can you charge that person with murdering an unborn child? I find this so stupid I mean murdering the women I agree completely that murder charges sould be filed, but doing something that’s legal and making it illegal in criminal court fucked up I say. A civil matter yes maybe battery; but would we charge someone with murdering a kidney no.

So bad life is worse than dead? Just because their life would suck is no reason to allow someone to murder an innocent baby.
