I don't know enough about other countries to compare the U.S. to. I don't hate the US, though I kinda hate Obama. overall, I think the country is getting worse, and I might need to move to Japan if it gets really bad.
You know there's better countries to live than Japan, right? It's a nice place to visit, but there's no way I'm living there for a lot of reasons.
LOL, PM me all of the reasons why. Japan to most people here is "Otaku holyland".
OT: I don't hate the U.S i fucking love it! People shouldn't hate America, they should hate those running the country.

Second, we Americans were brought up, raised in this society by our parents, and most of those inherate that stuck up attitude that I myself witness. Not really our fault, but one of the many ways that the Gov't controles us/How does the government control us?
Think of laws and such, but more "under the radar" if you will. One main way is through the media. Most, if not all news stations, are loyal to either the republicans or democrates. Point is, they are loyal to the government, and they only let us see what they want us to see. You remember the whole Wiki leaks thing? That's a prime example of what they don't want us to know, so they controle how much we know to properly keep us in check. With the news being our prime source of knowlege, which will always portray America as 'All Mighty', makes a lot of people patiotic, to totally arrogent and naive

The US does not control us. If the US controls us then we would not have freedom of speech and the government would kill any protester who is against their actions or their policy. Only a totalitarian government or dictatorship controls their people and the only country I can think of is North Korea. People are patriotic because they love their country. Most Americans are arrogant because we used to be a superpower and we were one of the greatest. The news yes is a source of knowledge ,but so is history.

Where the heck did you get kill off anyone that defys the gov't? I said that that the way the gov't controles us is subtle, under the radar. Meaning, it's not kill whoever. The examples you used is dictatorship, where the gov't forcefullt controles the people's lives. The US gov't controles the way we think. What better way to controle a populace than to have their train of thought lead to only one direction? If you remember Pearl Harbor, then you would know that the next day, the recruitment offices were filled with people who wanted payback. With the media, the gov't could very easily replicate that by twisting the very truth of something, or limiting how much we know of a situation.
The way you think of controle is too strait forward. You have to understand that people have been getting smarter, and can slip almost anything under our noses.

[size=14][i][color=#9D0A0A]I don't hate all of the U.S.
I do hate stupid people who think they're clever.
You find those everywhere, but most of the ones I've encountered we're from the U.S.
Apart from that, I personally don't love or hate the U.S.
Edit; Also, people that cannot speak and/or write their own language... Most people I know that have that problem, are from the U.S.
So, there's that.

I don't hate the U.S., I just think it's current state is getting progressively worse. I suppose you can blame that on the people running it. May sound corny as hell but if this keeps going on I may consider moving to Japan.

Well I've never really been there so is not really my place to say that I'd hate it, but being a Super power Means your bound to be hated by somebody.

I think the US is a terrible country, we have, and always will have, many social, economical, and political problems and they will not be getting better any time soon. HOWEVER I still think that the US is the best country in the world, we have many things that most countries could never even dream of, and that is why we are awesome. Yet I do hate some of the people here mostly the guy who owns this truck
Yeah this would make me want to punch Americans in the face too

LOL @ public racists.
Back on topic, I'm not American, so to bluntly say "I love" or "I hate" the States would be equally rude. I'd just say that I respect the U.S as a nation, though I certainly don't approve of some of their politics and customs, and the fact that those in the places of power think they own the world (and for what concrete reason I might ask) and therefore think they can do as they please, be it regarding war, economy, diplomacy, and pretty much everything else.

Nope, U.S is just too damn big to hate or love - one side he's bombing the civs in Afghanistan, one side he flew entire FLEET of helicopters from/to USS Mercy just for medevac the tsunami victims.
We got some of the greatest philanthropist in U.S - but we also got that greedy warmonger group of people.

As an American i have to ask what is there to make us think that we cant do as we please regarding anything. all other empires leading powers did it. the Roman Empire took all of the Mediterranean plus more by doing it. the British Empire took India, large parts of Africa, Canada and the 13 colonies (pre- revolution America) by doing as they please. So if you look at the Spoils of War the United States got from the last two World Wars and a Cold War compared to the Roman Empire and British spoils of war they are majorly insignificant. i hope that the rest of the world supports the 50% of the U.S (democrats) that have been keeping the jingo side (like that truck owner) at bay because when that wall falls nothing will have the power to stop them.
thank you for reading my opinions

No, I don't hate the U.S. but the amount of patriotism is sort of off putting, and don't have here in Canada, I was down in Florida for vacation and I was amazed how much patriotic Americans were. I just sort of wish Canada had some patriotism, not as much as the U.S. but a healthy amount of some Canadian patriotism.

Your opinion has reason in it, but IMHO it doesn't take notice of one thing: all the examples you made are about WARS OF CONQUEST. The Romans took most of Europe and northern Africa by conquering them through force. The British did the same with the colonies, and so did the Spaniards, the Dutch, the French, and so on. What I was trying to say was completely different.
It's not a matter of spoils of war or whatever, it's simply that I feel that the U.S are unrestrained by anything when they decide to do things, wether they're good or bad, and I feel that this is not the right course of action (this holds true for all of the other superpowers as well, I might add).
Then again, I say it once more: I'm not American, so maybe I just said a load of bull, and if so, I apologize, for it wasn't intended.

WWI and WWII could have easily become wars of conquest and for all purposes was on the Russian side. especially WWII where the feelings of the Allies could have been to simply dissolve Germany completely and take the territory for themselves to prevent the out break of a third World War. also in the Pacific The U.S. easily could have taken Japan for its own. Looking back it would have been a smart move too because it would have made the U.S. even more of an economic super power.
The only thing stopping or slowing down that opinion was and is public opinion. The fear that public officials have of their jobs being taken away is the only thing keeping dangerous feelings like that at bay.
You had some very valid points and i hope you continue to. I personally prefer to hear the opinions of non-Americans because i hear the opinions of Americans every day and it gets annoying.

Dude, for the Pearl Harbor, who doesn't know that? It's basic US history. As for the first question, are you reading my posts? I'm stating them above man. To me, as it sounds right now, it's like your begging the question.

go to the thread "the REAL world" and watch the video. if you want to know how america would do when controlling other nations, look at Liberia. all i can say is if that is any indication of the influence of america then the would is screwed

But the rich dont whant that, guess what they what! more money (have muche but whant more).
I think that thy think that if i work and make money then im not entitled to give some of my hard ownd money to the state.
