And if you think it's humiliating that people criticize your religion you'll just have to learn to deal with it. The sooner the better.

Nearly one third of Muslim students believe it can be acceptable to kill in the name of religion, according to a survey published yesterday.
It also found that 40 per cent want to see the introduction of Islamic sharia law in Britain, 40 per cent think it wrong for Muslim men and women to mix freely together, and 33 per cent want to see a worldwide Islamic government based on sharia law.
The survey was based on a YouGov poll of 1,400 students, 600 of them Muslims, at 12 universities with influential Islamic societies.

Oh yeah, it's all irrational Islamophobia. Not a justified reason to be concerned at all. I mean, these groups are only attacking law enforcement and generally tearing down western principles and liberties to implement their own draconian laws.
You personally, might be a "peaceful" Muslim but, the general consensus is you're the minority. The reason why people believe this is because the "peaceful" Muslims are silent when it comes to condemning the actions of the "extremist" brethren.

Many neighborhoods hang signs that say "You are entering a Sharia controlled zone: Islamic rules enforced." Christian preachers have also been accused of hate crimes for handing out Christian reading in Muslim neighborhoods. Police told these pastors to stop or they would be arrested. Several Islamic groups including Muslims against the Crusade leading the Islamic Emirates Project are openly on a mission to turn several areas of London and the UK into independent Islamic republics ruled by Sharia law.
In Brussels, Belgium, police patrol areas in two squad cars: the first to patrol and the second to protect the patrol car. Police have been targets for aggression and are afraid to go on regular patrols. They have also been told not to eat or drink in public during Ramadan, in order to not cause a public disturbance and further target themselves.

Hahahahahahahaha Daily Mail and the Centre for Social Cohesion, seriously. I like how they juxtaposition the 7/7 bombing picture to scare people and bury the positives of what is a misleading and sensationalist report in general. Classic.

Muslims Against the Crusade is a minority 'movement' which has no power or authority whatsoever. They're constantly criticised by imams and the Islamic councils, as are similar groups. There are loooads of Muslims in London (I should know, I live here) and I've heard no such discontent or seen any problems. The most catering for Islam that I've seen is Halal meat in food chains.
I can't talk for the continent, but French speaking countries have a habit of putting mad reactionary right wingers in charge and banning minarets, hijabs etc, so I'm not bloody surprised that people are angry.

The teachings of Muhammad are not peaceful at all. Muhammad was a warrior who fought against his enemies for the sake of his people. That was his main concern in life, not to spread flowers and sugar everywhere. So yes, the Koran is inherently disposed to violence do to the time period it was written in.

"Christians are better than Jews and pagans, they have a book that pertains to meekness and love of others and contain similar pillars of faith.Jews, athiests, and pagans contain a sense of selfishness and deceitful news by nature."

It is the same with muslims as with all other kinds of people, be it christians, jews, liberals or conservatives; most of them are normal people like you and me, but it is the crazy fanatic ones that shows up on the news, and the stupid mass believes that is the standard.
The only thing we not-as-stupid people can do is to try to ignore them (both the crazy fanatics and the stupid mass) and hope they dun fuck the world up even more.

The "No-go zones" predate the banning of Muslim Garb. So it's not like the Muslims in those communities in France, Belgium are suddenly circling the wagons because they are scared.
Muslim groups are attacking law enforcement and generally discouraging or preventing law enforcement agencies from doing their jobs.

I like Muslims. All the muslims I know are some of the most chill people out there I've seen.
Now, if we talk about those theocrats in the middle east and that fattass pig king of Saudi Arabia who probably eats pork like the hypocrite he is, then we have a very different story.
The middle east is a joke with their huge egos. They think they're the center of the world with their religion and oil. The worst part? They ARE the center of the world's conflicts right now!

what worries me is that the non-violent muzlums aren't opposed to the violent muzlums.
If a muzlum does not think the radical muzlums should go to jail/whatever, then he's not a peaceful muzlum, but a terrorist supporter

If you don't think Sarkozy is right wing, or acknowledge the shift of local governments in that direction, there isn't much hope for you. The population at large may be left-leaning but the politics is conservative and has been for some time. Muslims have polarised politics more in recent years, it has to be said, but I ascribe that to irrational fears and a militant minority just like sentiments everywhere else in the West (see Scandinavia, Holland).
Besides which, I see a list of 'sensitive areas', most of which are also impoverished areas slated for 'urban redevelopment'. Not no-go zones. So what we've established is that from my personal experience as a resident of the city whose Muslim population you were slating, I've seen nothing of the sort, and that your other points were misinformed and hyperbolic. Try again.

Assuming you are interested, Muslims are not allowed to forcefully convert anyone of a different religion or ideology to theirs. Exactly where did you obtain those quotes though? None of them seem right at all. And as for Jihad, Terrorists have "hijacked" (hahaha pun) the word to the point that its meaning is hard to know for someone who isnt informed on the subject. there are several types of Jihad. Jihad means the inner struggle of a Muslim to be one with his faith (sorry i cant find better words to say this) there is also an outer Jihad which can take many forms as well. the one that those completely unforgivable terrorists have hijacked is the form in which muslims must help and protect the muslim community from harm committed by an outside force; Only as an act of defense of course. If i am leaving anything unclear id be happy to answer any of your questions

Well all these qoutes are from the Islamic Institute of Education's English translated quran.Mostly from
Al-Ma'ida(5:[83-86],5:[78-82].) or سورة المائدة
as for the last qoute I forgot where exactly I found it
As to if I'm interested, quite a lot actually.
Now that my life doesn't revolve around studying/grinding for hours on end and generally is cut between free time and work I've occupied myself by randomly delving into various medias. As a Roman Catholic, I find interest in other followers of God,Christians excluded. Islam has been quite a void to me and considering I dont have any Muslim friends or know of a place to consult in your beliefs it's quite a saddening feeling to me to make presumption without a hand in the waters of a topic.(I picked up the Quran two days ago and truly a lot of it is inspired, I find GREAT similarity between it,the Torah, and the Bible. Many of the stories I've grown up with are contained here and quite afew messages are mirrored.Perhaps such a topic such as God is often difficult to comprehend, causing much chaos between his followers and often different ideals such as you and us Christians perceiving Jesus as the Masih but only us Christians believing he is the Savior and Lord, while all three believe he is a great prophet.)

All of you know there is a debate thread about this, right? Check the second post. This thread began with a guy giving his beliefs, saying that islamic terrorists are BAD people, regardless of their religious "motives". This is the kind of thing you guys should be happy about! Why the fuck are some of you attacking him over it? it's a commendable, and honestly, a brave thread!
Leave it in "why do Americans still fear Muslims", please.

To us, Jihad is not only about battling disbelievers, but also amplifying strengths from other aspects such as knowledge and spiritual strength. There are misunderstanding that we,Muslims must kill disbelievers in order to show our faith toward God.But actually in order for us to strengthen our faith toward God is we must be just, kind and humble toward other people even if they are non-muslims.Our prophet Muhammad(p.b.u.h) himself have given food to a jewish blind person who always mock him while Muhammad is feeding him for years as the Jew does not know the one who is feeding him is Muhammad. With patience,Muhammad strives toward the mockery with smiles as he does not care about the mockey but the poor condition ofthe Jewish person needs to take care of.Until the death of Muhammad, one of his companions went to the Jewish person in order to feed him.As he tried to feed him, the blind Jew is furious. The Jew said"You're not the man who always feed me!The guy who fed me always soften the food first before feeding me gently."Then the companion cried and said"Yes, it was not me who fed you.It was Muhammad who already died".The Jewish man is surprised. He never thought the man that fed him for years is the man who he mocked with the utmost mockery who is Muhammad. Then, he cried and said" Let me to become a brother in Islam." As the Jewish man said the syahadah,he is officially a Muslim.
I'm not trying to tell lies but this is the true story of the man who is the prophet in Islam.

What does this prove, exactly? It's a poor neighbourhood with high unemployment and fairly low education. It also has a large proportion of immigrants who are not likely to be Muslim. You're putting two and two together to make five. The report doesn't even mention Muslims, and that's not something I'd expect a Swedish tabloid to shy away from.
It specifically states that the Islamic 'courts' (as well as Jewish ones) cover civil disputes, and national law has primacy. They don't do criminal cases. It also clearly states that "the UK's most prominent Muslim organisation, the Muslim Council of Britain, opposes the idea [of implementing Sharia law], saying it will not support a dual legal system". Whether people want it or not - and the survey is small and unconvincing - it cannot and will not happen.
How's that for "hyperbolic". The evidence is right in front of you.
No, it isn't.

They're basically ghettos; poor, run down areas. The fact that a lot of the people living in them are Muslims makes little difference. They're crime beds just like anywhere else, and the police naturally find it difficult/are scared to confront them. They're only controlled by Sharia law in the sense that most Muslims live their lives by its principles. Neya, who has been to school in one such zone, would attest to that.
I see no difference between this and the contempt shown towards police by other poor minorities in other countries.

It's a misunderstanding for saying Islam is not peaceful. We,Muslims learned to be humble, just and kind toward other people.Let me tell you the history of Muhammad. While Muhammad is walking with his companion, a non-muslim strangled him with a cloth that its fabric is really rough. The companion is shocked and already hold his sword in order to kill the person. But Muhammad said,"Wait."Eventhough, he was in the verge of his death. The person released Muhammad. And Muhammad asked him calmly,"Do I have a debt with you?" The person said,"Yes, you have a debt with me."Then, Muhammad chuckles a bit and told his companion,"Finish my debt with him,my friend." As his companion hand over the money to pay his debt, the person who strangled Muhammad runs away.
I'm not trying to tell fake stories,my friend.
Because I myself learned to be a positive man from Muhammad.
It depends on you to believe, but I dare not to tell lies about my own religion.
May God guide you in this life(smiles).
Hope your life is in peace.
