I just want people to understand that Islam is not about negative things.
Other aspects,it depends on your perspective.
I look at every religion in a positive point of view.
And I am disappointed to see my own religion to be criticized.
It's time to act.

I agree with you JokerFight, although some segments in the Qu'ran is wrong.Or am I mistaken?
Misinterpreted is the appropriate language, I'm afraid.
Saying that it's wrong is like looking down on its religion, and we don't want to offend anyone here xD

Yes, sorry if i offended anyone.
Yeah, so I believe some segments in the Qu'ran has been misinterpreted by some people.
Therefore causing extreme actions which leads to us thinking Islam is wrong.

Now that you clarified what you said, it should be fine as a sunny weather.
Yes indeed, I mean, it's an old text, so the way people interpret it and what it actually means can be different.
Just like Shakespeare language, I bet people misinterpret it a lot of times, even though it's still English.

Ok, you're so not paying attention to like...ANYONE'S posts in this thread.
Islam is not peaceful. And Islam is not violent.
There is no central tenet to Islam that says, "Violence is not allowed in any way to anything."
Likewise there's not a text that says, "All things should be destroyed."
So when you say "Islam is not about negative things" You're wrong.
Islam IS about negative things, IF, and here's the big point, IF you choose to interpret it that way.
And it's about positive things IF, and this works both ways, IF you choose to interpret it to be positive.
You have no way of knowing that your interpretation of Islam is "The right one". You can try and give Quranic passages to justify your position, but I guarantee that fundamentalists can find Quranic passages to justify their actions as well.
The bigger issue is not whether ISLAM is peaceful, but whether its FOLLOWERS are peaceful. And this changes dramatically from person to person. There are a good number of moderates that have developed a lot from observing a secular moral system derived from non god involved ethics, such as yourself(though you probably credit all these observations to Allah anyway). And all of these moderates will understand their moral position, then superimpose that moral position on their holy texts.
Likewise, the fundamentalists will observe some sort of intolerance for something, be it white people, the Western culture, whatever, and will look at the Quran to justify not only their hatred, but actions as well.
So that's the issue. Islam is not peaceful, nor violent. Its followers are peaceful, or violent, and justify their actions using their book.

Freedom of speech versus blasphemy
I'll just quote one of my favorite examples:
(Theo) Van Gogh was a Dutch film maker who created the 10-minute film Submission with Ayaan Hirsi Ali in 2004. The film is about violence against women in Islamic societies. After the movie was released, both van Gogh and Hirsi Ali received death threats. Van Gogh was stabbed and shot dead on November 2, 2004, in Amsterdam by Mohammed Bouyeri. A note he left impaled on Van Gogh's chest threatened Western governments, Jews and Hirsi Ali (who went into hiding).
The note (can be read here) contains quotations from the Qur'ran.
Every religion is the target of criticism, but Muslims nowadays seem to react far more aggressive than other religious groups. That said: I don't see Christians, Jews or Buddhists opening topics and preaching how peaceful their religious system is on this forum.
I guess I just wanted to say that I agree with BigLundi:
(You SO got a +rep from me on that post.)
I'll just quote one of my favorite examples:
Fitna, a film by Dutch politician Geert Wilders which claims the Koran incites violence was met with calls to block and censor the film's showing. "The correct Sharia (Islamic law) response is to cut (off) his head and let him follow his predecessor, van Gogh, to hell," a member of Al-Ekhlaas wrote.

I'm not trying to throw any punches but I think, please do correct me if I am wrong, this site or its forums is no place for a true believer of Islam to dwell in. Well?
