[6:00PM Local Time] A portion of the government concluded that North Korea should take responsibility of the damage done in the last 2 days. They also suggested an idea to have a peaceful talk with the North Korean Government about this act.

[6:30PM Local Time] A portion of the government announced that the North Korea's violent act to provoke South Korea is unforgivable, especially without considering the innocence of the civilians.
[7:00PM Local Time] North Korea finally responded. They said that the attack was for self-defense and argued that it was South Korea who attacked and provoked North Korea first. They said "Whoever provokes us and attacks us will receive unjust violence from North Korea. That is our cultural way of treating the ones who provoke us. EVERYONE should have listened to our warning."
They also threatened, "If anyone invades the North Korean territory even by 0.001mm, we will ignore the rules and continue to attack with full military force"
[7:15PM Local Time] Another South Korean soldier died. The casualties are: 2 soldier dead. 12 soldiers and 2 civilians injured and counting.

Not happening. Shouldn't happen. Because if it does, then it's going to be a World War 3.
South Korea is allies with US, Canada, and other countries.
North Korea is with China. They used to be with Russia but due to them violating the terms of agreement for allied relationship, they're no longer in the agreement.

I disagree entirely. Technically, North and South Korea are still at war, and with tensions rising this war has a very good chance of becoming hot again. With the sinking of the South Korean warship, and now this... It's only a matter of time until South Korea retaliates.

Because if it does, then it's going to be a World War 3.Exactly. With international tensions rising due to other conflicts across the world, this artillery strike just might be the hairpin that sets off a war the likes of which most of us have never seen.
All we can do is hope that this can be resolved somewhat peacefully; and if violence does occur, that it is contained. But with North Korea being as stubborn as they are, and with all of South Korea's alliances, I just cant see this ending well.

No. South Korea will always try for the peaceful solution.
There has been many issues like this. Ex: Secret underground tunnels with evidence of recent North Korean military activities found.
But the South has never acted out in violence and never will.

QFT. Although i do agree that if the North pushes the South too much, they're gonna get pissed eventually.

I am reluctant to think the South would take further action unless provoked when you think back to the 46 sailors killed during the sunken ship earlier this year. However, the North denied that, saying they didn't fire any shots and they were being scape goated. They also denied the tunnels they dug, then said it was an accident and that they were mining for coal. Then they denied they kidnapped Japanese and held them hostage, but eventually confessed and said "we are sorry, here are a few of them back because we are good guys. Please gives us food."
However, they can't deny this and even if they did, nobody will buy it or give them the benifit of the doubt. The fired, South fired back and sent planes.
I hope things don't end up horribly, but there is every reason for the South to attack back and the North has no excuse this time.

Question now is, what was the reason for them to start firing just now? To provoke the South? In conclusion, yes.
There was a military exercise going on around that island, and the North were 'irritated' by it and apparently felt threatened. They sent a warning letter to the South Korean ship, but without receiving any respond to that letter, they started the artillery fires.

So doesn't that place the blame on the South for not responding?

Nothing will happen.
The US economy would go bankrupt without China and vice versa. It's not in any anyones interest to go to war. All North Korea is doing is trying to put on a facade that they have some sort of hold or power on the international stage.
North Korea, trolling the world since 1950.

South Korea is responding in the most peaceful way. They did respond, but without violence.

I agree that both US and China will not do anything, but nothing can be sure with The North and South Korea. The tension is increasing dramatically.

No, what i meant was, like you said, the North sent a letter telling them to stop the exercise, but the South ignored the letter? So they only have themselves to blame?

South Korea was not given the time to either respond to the letter, or to stop the exercise.

lol no.South Korea and North Korea are just wee chibi sized versions of China and USA.
No. South Korea will not go bankrupt economically without North Korea and vice versa. Therefore your point is invalid.

And do you know who are stimulating North Korea's and South Korea's economy's? Thats right the big boys, China and USA.
Basically if SK and NK don't want their economy's to go bankrupt they'll listen to USA and China. Now USA and China don't want to go to war because if they go to war with each other their own economies will both go under, and because of treaties, allies that whole who ha, the only logical conclusion would be WAR WONT HAPPEN.

The BBC has reported that many are speculating that this event is a strong indication of a switch-up at the highest level of North Korea’s power echelon. The Daily Telegraph goes a step further and infers that the bombardment is reflective of Kim Jong Il’s successor (his third son Kim Jong Un) beginning to take the reins of the nation, since historically, the new successor to the North Korean seat was heralded by a “series of aggressive acts intended to strengthen the new leader’s relationship to the army.”

For some reason, I'm not surprised of the events that took place. South Korea wasn't given enough time to react. It's only a matter of time before things go out of hand, no good can come from this. And while everyone is worrying about the economy and taxes and shit, I'll be chilling in the back while getting drunk.
