I'm a long-time player of GW (ever since they released it in '05) but I've been going on and off the game every now and then (almost did everything except for PvP stuff) but I might not get GW2. I heard that FFXIV is coming out next year whereas GW2 doesn't even have a release date. GW is a good game but it has very little replay value, as everything gets repetitive once you beat the campaigns and the expansion at least twice. By doing this, you either get into PvP or, if you don't like PvP (like me), you have to rely on farming or helping out guildies to have fun in the game.I might just make another character
Like Hokuto Nobosaki said. Not much replay value.
I'm definitely getting GW2. My only concern though is if it'll go down that WoW road. The makers used to work with Blizzard after all (not only that, they had some pretty big jobs on the making of WoW and Diablo)

From what you guys say it will get rid of my prophesies acc. Is there a way to save my lv 20 warrior that was made on prophesies? He can get on the factions side of GW. Oh yea i remember what armor he had. It was Knight Templar. Will i miss anything if i dont get nightfall? besides 2 jobs.

NF, you'll miss out on like 2/3rds of the heroes available in the game (including MOX, a golem hero you can only get if you have Proph, Factions and NF). Also, the Para and Derv heroes you get in EotN will have a severely limited skill bar. NF also has Treasure Runs (can make up to 30k in 1 run), DoA (with an exp party, you can make an armbrace of truth every 2 or 3 days, which equals to like 250k last I saw) and there's also Primeval armor, Ancient armor and Vabbi armor.
If you get NF or EotN, you will not lose any characters.
(note: EotN is where most people are farming atm. Mainly running dungeons for cash. In order to run dungeons, you'll need all the games [using a perma group, you don't need Proph depending on what build you're running])

eBay is selling a new one for like $15. I think the NCSoft store sells it for $20-30. EotN should only be like $15-$20.

So basically I should get NF right?I'd get NF first because there's alot more content in that one. Most of the expensive weps are all in EotN though.

Wait. GWEN came out almost three years ago?
Christ. Feeling old now.
I dumped a total of 3800~ hours or so into those games.
And I cannot wait for GW2. It's going to be amazing. (It better be at least)

In any case it now has been officially announced that the same payment method as always is used. So just a one-time fee game.

I hope they can live up to what they're saying there.
If they do. I think we'll see the golden standard for MMOs.

Every video and each article makes me more excited.
GW is the epitome of MMOs that I have played. And I spent many a night with guildies getting shit done.
Here's to hoping this game lives up to the hype...

New article up at the main site explaining Death and the archetype classes.
I like the new death system, giving a play a chance to fight back and "revive" yourself. No stat penalties this time either!
