Sorry if this view has been posted before, but I for one, having bought the first game, am not going to buy this second one. While true I did want Frank West and Pheonix Wright, they are the ONLY two characters I actually wanted. Personally Id rather just have this as DLC.
Some talk on other sites said "But 8 fighters would be 60 dollars as DLC. Think of all were getting for just 40!" And when I think about it, I replied. "2 Characters I wanted and 5 I didn't and a fucking racoon... so I would be only paying 10 for Wright and West." Cause thats all we are really getting here. I mean think of what they had said. Our new mode, is spectating... something they said they were going to give us free in the first game. Balancing... isn't that what a patch is used for in this day and age? Could valve get away with saying (before it went Free2Play), "Yeah we have to reballance some of the class weapons in TF2, you have to buy our new version for 10 dollars." Would you have done it? I mean I can understand 20 different versions of Street Fighter 2 and 3, NESS cartridges could never be patched, and the only balancing COULD come from a new version. But we have the Xbox 360, PC, and the PS3 now, with internal hard drives, a patch to balance wouldn't be hard at all.

Actually, his name was among the list of characters in the leaked UMVC3 roster, along with Frank West, Doctor Strange, Rocket Raccoon, Nemesis, and a few others. He hasn't been confirmed yet, but it doesn't hurt to be optimistic.

It will be several months before UMvC3 comes out. I will definitely buy the game because MvC3 is so much fun. I'm looking forward to spectator mode as well.

The point is "why a retail" version? when everything can be sold separately as patches and DLCs
Why do they need to force us to buy 12 characters, it would be better if they release it like how they sell Jill and Shuma Gorath.
Point :Why do I have to pay for characters that I don't want.
Tweaks and Balances can be done with patches and for Free, even the Spectator mode was promised to be Free and as a MvC 3 patch.
New Look, Do we really need it?
It's your call if you want to buy this game or not, but you're just going to make Capcom feel successful and will continue this "funny business model" for future games "Releasing games with minimum content"
I was on the "I don't care will buy" stance, but after seeing it from a bigger picture I changed my stance to "wait and see"

not like your copy of vanilla MvC3 is going to break, you still have a fully playable game.
if you want upgrades and new stuff, tough. gotta pay for it like everyone else. developers gotta feed themselves too.

I'm still going to wait for it. If UMvC3 proved to be the "last", meaning there's no other newer retail versions. I'll buy it eventually for 1/2 or 1/3 price. (I know places that can sale that low) (I got FFXIII for $5)

I was on the "whatever, I'll buy anyways" stance for UMvC3, but after watching the Angry Joe video, I'm now just going to wait and see if it's really worth it.
I would like to play Strider, but at the same time, he could of been DLC, all of them could.
They could of done something better with Story Mode, which was really lacking in Vanilla MvC3.
Balancing characters could of been done with patching nowadays.
Overall, I agree with Angry Joe, we are paying more for the bare minimum.

i remember back in the days of arcades, everyone celebrated and was happy as fuck at every balance patch, update, addon, sequel, whatever that came out.
but now that people got to pay $40 for the new game instead of pumping in the same two quarters while the arcade operator takes the hit for paying a few thousand bucks for a new board, suddenly people are mad.. :/
also in regards to new characters, i always have to laugh at suggestions for the marvel side, all people want are characters from old games. thats pretty boring. in addition to that, nobody seems to have a clue of what characters exist in the marvel universe outside of the x-men. great stuff.

I honestly had to wiki Iron Fist, Nova and Rocket Racoon since the only Marvel comic that I read until now was Marvel Zombies, Captain America's Death, and New X-Men (only till M-Day).

Only character that I never heard of was Rocket Racoon. But I don't play many Capcom games, so it can't be helped. For the most part, I liked the Marvel characters being added to the game. The only exception might be Nova. I'm familiar with him, but I'm just not a fan. Also, I don't see why Hawkeye gets so much guff. After all, he's an Avenger for a reason, he kicks ass.
