No i wouldn't. I love nintendo to much to do that, although I'd be irritated that they did. Same with this situation, I'm irritated that Sony did it but at the same time I'm not yelling at Sony. Only thing I'd be yelling at is the people denying that it's an obvious clone. And if it's a bad clone then I'd be going crazy. Cause if you're gonna do it, do it right.

O well I'd still like nintendo so I wouldn't be that mad a nintendo. And yes we are derailing this topic. We have almost took an entire page.

Microsoft owns Lionhead studios, so characters from Fable and Black & White would be available. As would Rare characters such as Banjo, Conker, Joanna Dark, etc. Not to mention Live Arcade games like Splosion Man, Comic Jumper, Dishwasher, etc. Other games would include Alan Wake, Voodoo Vince, Brute Force, Ninety-Nine Nights, Crackdown and more. That just the shit off from the top of my head or from my gamecase.

At first I was skeptic on how the game will pan out given that the nintendo character cast is more suited towards this kind of game, but the game doesn't actually look half bad!

I've been a Sony fanboy for the last 3 years, ever since I got a PS3 slim, and there's no doubt in my mind that this is a rip from super smash. But I don't think there is anything wrong with that, especially to us consumers. Some healthy competition will just push forward the gaming genre.

Sony needs to get a good variety of casts, focus on marketing, and for the love of god, get a decent net code. If there is a noticeable amount of input delay, it's going to kill the multiplayer.

Not going to lie, this looks horrendously bad. And that's setting aside the fact that it looks like a Sony ripoff of the Super Smash Bros. series.

I'm gonna check it out. People who automatically dismiss it because of its similar properties to ssb are idiots. Personal policy is to never judge a game before it comes out. I will defiantly try it tho who knows it might be good.

People may complain that it's similar to SSB but I'm still waiting for more of this game. It has the potential to be good.

We call it a rippoff because it IS a rippoff! It's trying to capitalize on a standard set by someone else! Kinda like the new Sega All-Stars racing copying the morphing vehicles fad started by Mario Kart 7. Sure, morphing vehicles aren't a rippoff in an itself, but they're doing morphing vehicles only because of Mario Kart 7! If they were at least passionate about their inspirations, it wouldn't be a rippoff, but they're only doing this because of Super Smash Bros!

Just because the gameplay looks the same doesn't mean the gameplay mechanics do!

The mechanics are irrelevant to my point. They aren't making a platform fighter which just so happened to be similar. They did it intentionally to sell out.

The sad part about this is it might very well end up better (and balanced) than Super Smash Bros.

Why is the big daddy in there? Bioshock was originally an Xbox 360 exclusive.

Honestly, when this kind of stuff happens:
you don't judge it by it's similarity, but it's quality.
And it's not like they ripped off All that was SSB, games like this are played for the characters.

Every fighting game is a rip-off of Street Fighter, and every other RPG is a rip off of final fantasy.
But what makes those "rip-offs" good or even better, because it's fucking different
-characters are different
-stories are different
-some gameplay mechanics is different

You want to play as Mario, Sonic, Link, then go play SSB, If you want to play as Kratos, Sweettooth, Nathan Drake then play this.

Everyone seemed to ignore the words "setting aside" in what I said. I had stated that it looks horrendously bad without even considering the fact that it looks like a cheap rip-off. I remember watching a small teaser by the developers when this game was first announced, and thinking to myself, "Do they really think this is going to sell?" It looks super gimmicky, and not in a way that's charming or endearing. When you stack Kratos against Fat Princess in a fight and Kratos isn't an instant win, you have to ask yourself if you're devaluing the characters. By comparison, in Super Smash Bros (since everyone's going to ignore the point anyway) the characters are for the most part very similar in powers or capabilities via comparison of their individual origin worlds. But in this game, we're going to stack Sweet Tooth, a serial killer and mass murderer, against PaRappa the Rapper, a cartoon rapping dog who's never so much as considered violence, and put them all up against the titular character of Fat Princess, who to my knowledge had no role in her own game other than devouring fattening desserts, and Kratos, who is arguably one of the most overpowered and bullshit characters of all time--and we're going to try to make it a balanced fighting platformer arena sort of game.

To me, it feels like they're devaluing their characters for no good reason other than to try to make a few bucks, and I have trouble believing Sony is that desperate for money.

At least Nintendo didn't make it weird to see someone like Marth Fighting Ganondorf of Bowser. Seeing someone like Nathan Drake fight Parapa just seems off in style. Not too mention it looks slow.

The game mechanics don't look appealing at all. Having to get a "super" to defeat an opponent seems weird, but hopefully they'll have different modes like all the Super Smash games have had before.(stamina and stocks)

Maybe the concept of this wasn't a bad idea, but so far the execution looks horrid.
