SC 1 i play zerg because of the hydralisks, mass produce them and they're like the crypt fiends of starcraft until an irradiate/ psionic storm comes your way. (oh and guardians and defilers) in SC 2 with all the new toys terran is getting *drool mechs* im probably gonna try them out 1st.I can only imagine that the Terrans will be the hardest to utilize since I believe their micro is probably the hardest in the game out of the three, especially with all the new units.
That's a good point, I'm probably gonna play the first few levels of the campaign, do a few runs on single player maps with zerg and then jump right online as my favorite little alien locusts.
I'm still curious how exactly the queen works for the base management, I imagine that will probably be the hardest thing to get used to for me. Isn't it supposed to be your main defensive mechanism as the zerg?

Yeah I'm a zerg kind of player though I just go random most of the time since I can play good with either of them. Terran I find the hardest to play as but I can do pretty good with them early on. As for Protoss if I just go all ground units I can be good with them they seem to be the easiest but they cost so much. As for zerg they are the ones that I'm most comfortable with because there massing is what gives them the edge and since I had a friend who practically owned with them it made me want to do that shit as well. There were a bunch of different kinds of combinations of attacks that I learned from the guy.

I usually play Protoss. Terran is ok for me but I'm terrible with Zerg. I have a pretty decent strategy using Protoss but I'm still working out some of the holes in the strategy. Terran, I forgot how to use them since I started playing Protoss and Zerg, well, terrible, I cannot use them, not even for rush. Still waiting for Starcraft 2 to come out though. That game is way overdue.

Protoss all the way because of all the gliches you can exploit with them, even though most are patched. 3 main reasons I love protoss are dark templars, mind controll, and cloaked zerg glitch. I can't wait to see what new toys the toss get in SC2.

yeah i also believe so... terran is going to take a lot of practice to get used to with the new units + their abilities, not to mention i haven't played SC for years (i'm probably mediocre at best)

I can't play starcraft online for shit. I seriously suck ass at it. BUT, I do love the stoyline of it, much more then warcraft. I am waiting for the 2nd to be out and I'll probably actually go out to a store and buy it...which is something I havn't done since like 2003...
Fav race? In the storyline, the protoss. In the game itself? Terrans.

Here's the battle reports on Starcraft II:
Battle Report 1:
Battle Report 2:
Battle Report 3:
Battle Report 4:
Feel free to comment on the the videos, the tactics they used, the gameplay, the units, etc. I thought this was worth reviving since I can tell SC2 is nearing th stage to get green lit.

Just watched all four of those videos in succession. DOn't know if I want to play it, but I could watch those all day.
It looks like the terrain comes into play more importantly. Fog of war on top of cliffs even when there's fire, destructable rocks to open new fronts, and high-end resources. I like those new elements. But still looks like 6 months away at least, some of those units (like the marauders) seem overpowered.

Oh yea, terrain use was always an important factor when playing SC, but there are many more factors involved, especially with those Xel'Naga watchtowers and destroyable terrain. I'm pretty sure Blizzard stole the idea of different mineral patches from the Command & Conquer series where blue tiberium deposits yielded more minerals than the normal green tiberium deposits.
I haven't seen much use of the Immortals, which makes me wonder if they're a unit to be worth producing, but Protoss seems especially expensive in this new game.

I remember in the original SC that protoss scouts used to cost 300 minerals, before patches changed that they weren't worth the resources. I'm guessing there will be lots of imbalances and patches in the first year.
On other note, I read that the Terrans are the only playable campaign race. The whole things supposed to be a trilogy with Zerg and Toss campaigns released seperately at later dates. And then we'll probably get the inevitable SC MMo...in ten years.

The scout was a bullshit unit that was a waste of minerals and gas, and that's coming from a Protoss player.
@Matte: Terrans are the only playable campaign? That doesn't make sense since we're seeing people playing different races in the Battle Reports, unless you mean SCII will be released in three parts, of which I've never even heard of such a thing.

Thanks for reviving this G-money, loved the videos. I can't wait till the game is out and actually see all the new units and the storyline, what happens?
I mean, who here thinks is going to win the war (storyline wise)? Will Kerrigan and the zerg reign supreme? Will the humans be annihilated? Will the protoss survive? :o
