Awesome read. That article clearly shows that Microsoft, Sony, and third-party completely missed the point when it came to the Wii and DS success. Also, I'm gonna start using his terminology. Upstream and downstream market are far better descriptions than "casual" and "hardcore" games.

I have to vote for the PS3. I'm not really a fan of how the Wii works, and when it comes down to games for PS3 and 360.. PS3 blows 360 away (in my personal preferances.)

These are exclusives only. Of course there's more games but they are multiplatform. So as for system performance and feel of the controls, I prefer PS3. So obviously, PS3 is the winner for me.

What if I favour neither of them? lol I just play games for the hell of it, not to compare graphics or such shallow stuff, and I don't bash other consoles. But if I really do have to choose one then it's PC.

Nintendo is far ahead but Sony has not yet lost, haven't your seen its powerful line-up in the next year?

People keep acting like the race is over for who has won but it's far from it. If the analysts are to be believed this generation will be the longest we've seen with not a new model coming out but just more SKUs. I still think Sony will come in second just ahead of Nintendo. 70% of that is fanboy based and 30% is the value for money. The PS3 offers more as a home entertainment device then the 360 and is now on marks with it as a gaming device as well. All the third party games that are worth a play anyways are coming out multiplatform so the 360 doesn't have an advantage over that anymore.

The price still needs to come down on the PS3 tho and I think we will see that when the slim releases this year. If it doesn't happen Sony is fucking retarded.

With that new management change that Sony did, going back to the successful Ps2 generation and the very nice change they have been doing in the industries can only mean improvement on Sony's part.

I won't argue about "home entertainment device" but do we really need that? i mean i use my PC for doing that, and my console is for playing (no-ero)games only.
Oh yeah and the price thing might be a problem in some countries...

Wow, this is weird, in the beginning it was almost an even match between the 360 and the Wii. the PS3 was barely an afterthought.

I have a 360 and PC I voted pc because I use it more.
But the 360 is still fun to play ace combat and armoured core.

For the love of god, stop complaining about the fucking PC option. it's a viable console by virtue of the fact that games are made exclusively for it and it's not a hand held device.

Ever wondered why so many people in this thread have been wondering why there's a PC-option among the other choices? Or why all the discussion in here revolves around Wii, Ps3 & the 360? It's because no one views the PC as a console in the current war going on.
