The "Last Game You Beat" Thread

Ace Combat Assault Horizon - 7/10

It's a nice action game, but it shouldn't be part of the Ace Combat franchise. Still doesn't deserve all the bashing it received.

Hyperdevotion Noir and Hyperdimension Neptunia U. After beating all the Vita games (minus Neptunia PP and Blanc + Zombies) and the latest Nep game on PS4, I've finally come to the conclusion that the Neptunia series sucks. They're the light novel equivalent of videogames.

Now I'm trying to finish up Y's: Memories of Celceta - nearing the end, okay so far. Although the map you're supposed to explore is a lot smaller than I thought it'd be.

finished Neptunia Zombies. I think its actual name is like Megatagmension Blanc or something

Finally finished Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel on PS3 after a 4 month hiatus. Even though I've been playing RPGs since the 16-bit days, this is easily the longest RPG I've ever played. I usually scoff whenever I hear people say an RPG will take 50/60/100 hours to beat, but this time it's no joke!

The only other game I can think of that comes close to this is Xenogears on the PSX, but I don't remember that being so fatiguing (maybe, been over 15 years). Now I'm not really sure if I want to pick up the sequel this Fall... the thought of another 80-hour slogfest sounds daunting.

Anyone else tackle this monster?

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC - 10/10 easily my favorite rpg.
Momodora 4: Reverie Under the Moonlight was pretty fun. I'm doing a hard play through now.

Currently working on FFX/X2 HD Remaster, TitS SC, and Bastion...well whenever I feel like playing any particular night.

In all honesty the last game I beat was Criminal Girls on the Vita. I know that people give crap about the Vita, but it found a place in my heart.

Right now I'm trying to successfully complete a Pokemon Y Nuzlocke and after that trying to decide of replaying Dragon Age Origins or play one of my two newly acquired Playstation classics: Valkyrie Profile or Thousand Arms.

I've beaten it as well. On my second playthrough now to get the platinum.
I'll be buying the second one when it releases. As that ending for the first was such a damn cliffhanger.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC and got Estelle's legendary weapon. Now I'm on to replay this game several times to get the other weapons.

The last game that I have beaten for any console/system was Senran Kagura: Estival Versus (PS4). I also managed to achieve the Platinum trophy for the game as well, which was the first one I have ever earned in any Playstation game I have played on the PS3 and PS4.

Just finished X-Com: Enemy Unknown Plus for the Vita. Despite the name, it's really just Enemy Within, so it's an even better version of EU.

Or it would be, if the Vita could handle it. There's a massive two to three minute loading time from starting up the game and returning to an in-progress mission. Autopsy and interrogation cutscenes have been cut, as have a few other cosmetic features, such as alien "doors" opening in a smooth, beautiful pattern, and the close ups that happen while shooting in the other versions. Less than ideal, but it's fine. Except it's still laggy as shit everywhere. And God forbid you want to use an option that's in the middle of your attack/item/ability select in a fight, since it takes so much longer to get there compared to the PlayStation 3 version. The Grey Market is even worse, so hope you don't have any funding problems!

There's quite a few bugs, but most of them are just graphical issues, such as shots appearing on screen after the target gets hit, the MEC's gun exhaust being pixilated, or grenades just appearing at their target instead of bouncing. But two of them are of note: one makes the game outright crash (hope you saved recently!) and another has a unit get stuck on an object when they use an item, thus preventing them from moving. I'm not sure if they're counted as in cover or not, but I'd imagine they aren't. Though amusingly, I also had a unit clip through the walls of an alien ship this way. I needed to run him back around to get him back to the rest of the crew, but at least he wasn't stuck. It'd be extremely exploitable if I gave him ghost armour or the like, but alas.

Anyway, avoid. Just play it on the PS360 or PC. It's such a wonderful game, so seeing it in such a terribly done way is so bad.

Oh, and for those wondering, Classic Ironman. I'd like to thank Ironman for saving me from massive progress loss from all those crashes.

Recently beat Doom. The 2016 version.

I never had a chance to play the games that inspired it, the old-school run-and-gun FPS, but I'm thinking I might want to look into them now. I never liked modern FPS games, with regenerating health bars that can be knocked to zero if you stub your toe--"Twitch shooters", I call them--but being a bit tankier, a bit faster, and being able to brute force your way through encounters was a lot of cathartic fun.

I've heard Painkiller is a lot like that. Might check it out, if I can find it on Steam or something.

Just finished Call of Duty Black Ops 3 again.

A shame that Hendricks is such an unbearable prick in the Italian dub. Otherwise another game that received too much bashing, though not a great one either. The original Black Ops is still the best of this timeline imho.

Dungeon of the Endless is the last game I beat I think. Well, "beat". I completed the main game but still have a bunch of alternate modes. 100% Orange Juice is the game I have the most achievements with, though its multiplayer-based so it's impossible to beat. I'd recommend both games, they're great!

Either Slime Rancher or Subnautica.

Slime Rancher has no real ending, but it's an early access game on steam so it's a tad unfinished. It's fairly easy to collect higher value slimes to get the in-game currency easily if you know how. After that it's just completionist things like collecting Slime Keys, achievements, and popping Gordos with copious amounts of food.

Again, Subnautica has no real ending but you can reach endgame within a few hours to a day or so. It's an open exploration game with a resource gathering element located underwater on a water planet. Fairly small map and quite easy to gather blueprints and the materials needed to survive. Again, game's early access so a lot of it is subject to change. I hope they make the resources renewable. Titanium is I think.

Front Mission 3

Emma's scenario is both too long and too boring, otherwise a good game. I admit I still prefer FM1 though.

Meh out of 10. Wasn't awesome for my likes of a side scroller. Short but a nce way to spend some random time, Graphically it was plain. Basic RPG and flimsy story.

Project Diva X (PS4) - my entry into the series. I didn't think much of the whole vocaloid thing at first but after playing this game I can see the appeal. I usually get my ass handed to me playing on hard but still have fun w/ it.

Too bad I have no sense of rhythm, otherwise these games would be a lot more fun. =\

Neverdead for the PS3. A somewhat great over the top action game. Gonna beat on nightmare difficulty next.
