I enjoyed it but that provided a LOT of backstory to get us to a place and time that didn't give us any real narrative progress. Now that we know why the smell of the pool arouses him, show via the story why we ever cared. The relatively abrupt ending doesn't express or resolve any sort of conflict for instance does his scent-triggered arousal get him into infidelity situations with other girls in the swim club? Does he get caught, embarassed, shamed and or blackmailed for being aroused while in a supervisory position at the club by some other member?
