I wish...No, it was just some douche who hit a power pole. Knocked out power for this area. Which sucks, a couple friends of mine live in a house a few minutes from here. They still have power. Oh well, I spent time with my family without the distractions of technology.

Can you at least read my words as I mean them rather than putting your own context to my words (Now, I know how Waar feels). Though, I agree that I threw that line out there a little too casually. The point of my argument was:

Good/Evil are subjective. Germany saw itself as liberators (of Aryans). Europe saw Germany as invaders. Hitler killed Jews and Communists. Trampled the rights of his citizens (secret police,etc) We see that as senseless slaughter and violation of basic human rights. Hitler Germany saw themselves as ridding themselves of the people who were ruining their country. So who is right? Germany or Europe? Why are they right? When you look at it in modern times. America sees itself as liberating Iraq and Afghanistan. People of the Arabic world see it as invasion by the west and overthrowing their respective governments to install a puppet "Pro-west" government. So who is right in that context? Are we justified by invading their country even though we mean the best (just go with me on this I don't want a anti-bush/anti-war rant going on) or are we the villains here? Everybody has their side.

Do I approve of Hitlers actions? Fuck no, and I am in no way shape or form promoting Hitler. The man's desire was to restore Germany. He instilled a feverish nationalism into the hearts and minds of the German people. He pulled the country out of a pathetic economic state. Reinvented the tactics of modern warfare. I'm sure there are a few others I can't remember off hand. To the German people he was a Hero at the time. He became a godly figure to his people. To the rest of the world though he was a madman, a murderer, etc. I am not trying to say "aww Hitler wasn't a bad guy. Give the man a break". If I could I would go back in time to put a bullet through the fuckers head to prevent all that bullshit from happening the first time.

Do some research once in a while. Not everything isn't 2-Dimensional as a high school textbook would make it seem.

Also, where the hell do I come across as ignorant(I won't take "well I'm German so I know better than you" as a valid argument)? I would really appreciate it if you would actually read my words in context rather than putting your own context to them. Ask anybody here on FAKKU and I'm sure they will tell you that I know what the fuck I'm talking about when I post.


If you're talking to me Dante. I think the Holocaust was a horrible violation of basic human rights and is a stain on the German history. I think the people who deny the holocaust are the ignorant ones.

At least you had power. The power went off here around 2:30 and didn't come back on until 6:30. Ended up making dinner by Candle light and used a grill to cook everything.

If you were someobody else (shaggy, Whitelion,etc) I would consider this an intellectuals attempt at sparking a "No such thing as good/evil" argument.

With that kind of argument you could say "Look at America in Iraq. Americans see themselves are taking down a dictator and bringing freedom and democracy to the middle east. While the Arabic people see us as invaders overthrowing their government to install puppets".

I won't exactly say Hitler was evil. He gave hope to a downtrodden people. Though his methods were wrong he wanted to restore Germany. Too bad he ended up sending millions to their deaths and destroyed Germany a second time. While we decry his actions now, he was a hero to his people. Humans have this mentality that good triumphs over evil. So those who win are the good and those who lose are evil.

From what I remember, Hitler used the Jews and Communists are a scapegoat to advance his political agenda. He blamed them for the ruin of their country. With people to hate it's easy to motivate.

Why not be a man then? Red Bull and Grey Goose! That's a good way to die.

If I was granted the ability to time travel I would

1). Go back in time to meet the Founding Fathers so talk with them.

2). Ask them to clarify constitutional arguments we have today (abortion, separation of church and state)

3). Convince my grandmother to invest in Mattel.

4). Convince my parents to invest in Google, Microsoft and similar companies that are successful today. Also inform then on the dates they should sell their investments in certain companies.

5). Make myself help out more around the house when I am younger. That and smack myself around to get a job sooner.

I'm inclined to agree (and I'm not even voting in motemote this year). Posts should require at least the use of a handful of braincells before it should be added to the post count. If a drunken monkey on acid can slap a keyboard and it seem more intelligent than a users post. It shouldn't count.

I agree with holic but, the fact of the matter is that Raze (or maybe it was Jacob) shot down the idea. When you look at it in the long run. If everybody gets the chance to change their title then we'll have a fuck-ton of people with various titles. On forums I used to visit the mods would grant custom titles to people they liked, proved beneficial to the community or just stood out in the community.

A perfect example is nee-chan. She stood out in the community so she got a custom title. Maybe that is a compromise we can make with the admins. Give the mods the ability to grant a custom title. The mod would ask the person what they want their title to be. The people would tell the mod what they wanted and the mod would make the change when they got the opportunity.

it still boils down to the Raze (or jacob) thought that the idea wasn't necessary and would clutter up the forum.
