Getting back on topic, I believe it would be normal for anyone to like mangas with a gender-bender theme. If no one enjoys these titles, then the mangakas and publishers would probably not release said material in the first place.

One of my favourite mangas with a gender-bender theme would be that of GachaGacha. Not sure if any of you have read it, but it is full of fanservice and comedy. :D

Getting back on topic, and focusing on the positive aspects of this discussion, it goes to show that Japan has done a good job in marketing its Gundam franchise. Organizations will always want to copy whatever is successful from others, unless they can come up with even more original ideas. An example would be the touch-screen smartphones which are very common nowadays, unlike a couple of years back.
