Gambler Posts
Like the previous few replies, I don't think this thread belongs to Serious Discussion. It will be moved to Incoherent Babblings, since it has gone off-topic too.

Gambler is only human and would require some advice on solving the problem listed below.
My external hard disk was in the midst of autorun when it hung halfway. After re-adjusting the USB cable, the drive was detected. I managed to transfer an anime file over to the hard disk, but when I tried opening it, there was some error. Thinking it to be a problem with my classic media player, I restarted my laptop with the hard disk still attached.
After the restart, I am now unable to access my hard disk drive. The error message: "G:/ is inaccessible. Hard disk is corrupt or unreadable."
Is there any way to solve the problem? I read elsewhere that data recovery software may be an alternative solution. If so, can anyone recommend any?
My external hard disk is 80GB in size. It is mostly filled with work data, anime, music and of course, precious pron.
Thank you in advance for your help.

This topic brings back some memories.
A long time ago, there were a few users who created a thread and started to post solely in Indonesian. Although I may have offended them, I had no choice but to lock the topic due to the following two reasons:
1) By posting and chatting in a native language, it prevents other members who have no knowledge of said language from participating in the discussion. Personally, I would wish for everyone to interact and communicate with one another, instead of simply sticking to their own small group, or segregating others.
2) Secondly, it makes a dangerous precedent. If a group of users were allowed to post and chat in their native language, others may follow suit. I believe there are hundreds of languages throughout the world, and I don't wish to see hundreds of threads in different languages on Fakku.
This is my personal opinion on the issue and up till today, it still stands.

Mod Note: I would urge all users to remain on topic. That being said, I believe this thread does not really belong to the anime specific section. It should be moved in due time, once I figure out an appropriate section.
Happy Belated Birthday, Guilty Guardian! May all your dreams and wishes come true!
Lesson Learned: If you don't tell others of your birthday, no one else will celebrate it with you. :eng101:
Which is why I believe you did the right thing. :D

Happy Belated Birthday Waar! May all your dreams and wishes come true!
That being said, I should make a point to be present for all these major events and celebrations.

I guess I do have 3 people in my life (family members aside) whom I can consider as "best friends". 1 of which whom I have known for at least 22 years and the other two, 20 years respectively. Even though we are busy with our lives these days, we still make a point to meet up on a regular basis, during the festive seasons or to celebrate one's birthday.
These are the people whom I know will support me when I need help and vice versa.

Just as long as you aren't disappearing from Fakku for good, I believe it is all right to take a break. I can't help but feel disappointed when members leave Fakku permanently.
That being said, take care and may we see you back here soon.

For every person who believes that the rep system is useful, there is bound to be another who believes that the system is being abused far too much.
Getting back on topic, I admit I don't use the rep system all that often. After all, how can I when I am busy with work most of the time? :D However, on the few occasions which I actually added to the reputation points of a particular user, it is because s/he did something out of the ordinary and in a manner which contributed to the good of Fakku. Examples include users who upload with a sincere desire to share or those who put in effort in creating a particular topic.
Subjective you may say, but +rep is one of the small gestures in which I can show my appreciation for these people.

With Jacob intending to make changes to one of my favourite sections on Fakku, I can't help but show up. :D
Jokes aside, I kinda like things as they are right now. The "general discussion" section is for generic, all encompassing topics, while the "Anime Specific" and "Manga Specific" sections focus on individual titles, which I think tends to bring out more in-depth discussion among users.
In addition, I am quite sure most of you know that I am in favour of the unofficial "one topic per anime and manga title" rule. Apart from the first-come, first-serve principle which I believe in, it also serves to keep the "Anime Specific" and "Manga Specific" sections neat. If we attempt to remove this subculture which members of Fakku are already familiar with, then it might result in numerous threads of a popular title being made, with no effort to use the search function and masterlists.
I see nothing wrong with old topics being revived; although some users may complain about necro-bumping, it should be fine as long as the latest reply is relevant to the topic being discussed. The contributions of members who created and participated in old topics should not be forgotten. One may be surprised to find valuable knowledge in old topics. Using an analogy to describe my thoughts, an old book does not necessarily mean that it is no longer useful or relevant.
From what I have read, I assume Jacob's aim is to encourage user participation in the anime specific and manga specific sections. Although the anime specific section
does not produce new topics all the time, it is worthwhile to note that most of the existing topics are at least a few pages long, indicating that there is constant activity, although I admit more replies (in an appropriate and manageable level) would not hurt.
In conclusion, I would say I disagree with the upcoming changes planned for "General Discussion", "Anime Specific" and "Manga Specific" section. That being said, I hope I don't incur the wrath of my boss, Jacob, in this case. :D

I've seen this on Gendou before. The problem is very few users would take part in this.
Also, you have to set this up yourself. You can just say "Hey Moderators heres a good idea. Make it happen."
If it gets some attention a Moderator will make it front-page and whatnot.
I am in full support of the idea, even though I can hardly sing. All ideas that bring the community closer together is welcomed by myself, though I don't think my words mean much.
However, it would be a good idea to keep the competition internal rather than post videos all over the internet. We never know what undesired attention we may bring to Fakku. *Cough* Youngsters below the legal age, aspiring to be singers, and subsequently discovering Fakku to be an adult site. That or their righteous parents. *Cough*

Even with their huge spending spree, the Galacticos got knocked out of the Champions League by Lyon. Although I did not manage to watch the match, reports say that some of the players were too selfish. Perhaps they are still lacking in teamwork?

I am sure you will be back in no time. Thankfully, no new games are being released in the next week or so... until Friday, that is. :)

In Japan, there are lots of card games, with Lycee and Weib Schwarz being the more popular ones. The latter even has an anime dedicated to it.
I bought a booster box for Lycee, but I never got around to playing the game. Sometimes, cards games need not be played. They also serve as a form of collectible.
