Gambling-Sense Tingling: I can't help but feel that one of the two big names playing later today is going to fall. Either Argentina or England is going lose their match.
Although there is no corelation between both matches, the conspiracy theorist side of me says that if Argentina beats Nigeria, England will to fall to USA. On the other hand, if Nigeria creates an upset, then England should safely win their 1st match.
For those who can afford it, I see no harm in placing some money on the underdogs - Nigeria and USA respectively.

I would usually refrain from double posting, but since I have made it a point to provide some match analysis and prediction for the World Cup matches, I thought it might be more appropriate to start a new post rather than edit the previous. Nonetheless, if any member on Fakku is uncomfortable or displeased with my actions, do feel free to inform me so that the necessary action can be taken.
South Korea v Greece:
South Korea is a team with relatively fast and hardworking players. With Park Ji Sung as captain, he is sure to lead by example. On the other hand, Greece is not famed for speed, but rather, their defence and counter-attack strategy. It did bring them their Euro 2004 title, but said strategy was less successful in 2008. I expect a tightly fought game with either side to win by a single goal.
Prediction: 1-0 to Greece
Argentina v Nigeria:
One of the biggest names at almost every World Cup tournament, Argentina has a frightening attacking force, including Messi, Higuain, Aguero, D.Milito and Tevez. However, Argentina has struggled in their qualifying matches and hopefully, all vulnerable aspects of the team have been rectified. Traditionally, the Nigerian players possess quite a bit of speed and could trouble the midfield of their opposition.
Prediction: Nigeria to cause a serious upset by defeating Argentina. With the high payout offered, it wouldn't hurt to place a small sum on Nigeria for potentially high returns.
England v USA:
England is definitely one of the teams favoured to qualify from their group into the knockout phase. However, with the absence of Rio Ferdinand due to injury, the central defenders will have to form a mutual understanding quickly. Wayne Rooney would be pivotal in winning the game for England. However, one should never underestimate USA; they were the team to defeat Spain in the last Confederations Cup, held not too long ago. The USA men's soccer team has improved by leaps and bounds in recent years.
Prediction: England to win with a possible scoreline of 2-1.

With the opening World Cup match between South Africa and Mexico taking place in a couple of hours, I thought it would be interesting to create this thread for all fellow punters out there... if any.
Although my username is Gambler, let me announce in advance that I am no professional gambler and that all my predictions in this thread should be taken with a pinch of salt. Remember, gambling excessively could ruin one's life.
A little bit of advice before we move on the match analysis: When gambling, we must be prepared to lose. Set aside a sum of money, say $50 or $100, for your betting activity this World Cup. The moment you have used up this amount of money - STOP. Do not harbour hopes of recouping or that you will definitely win in your next game. It will only lead to excessive gambling. With that, let us begin:

Based on past World Cup tournaments, the host nation has never lost their opening match. Even though Mexico does not have a lot of big names, they possess an attacking style, which should ensure some beautiful football. On the other hand, South Africa has home ground advantage.
Prediction: Draw with a 1-1 scoreline. Having zero goals in an opening game does not sound very exciting.
Uruguay v France:
Uruguay has one of the world's most lethal finishers in Diego Forlan. Fellow strike partner, Luis Suarez is currently on form, scoring plenty of goals for Ajax in the Dutch league. Getting the ball to them would be main task of Uruguay's midfield. On the other hand, France appears to have fallen into difficult times. It is not helped by news that their coach will be replaced after the World Cup regardless of whether they win the tournament. Nonetheless, there are plenty of talented players in the French team, who could change the course of a game. A sleeping giant is still a giant.
Prediction: Yet another draw, with a 1-1 scoreline, although there could be a lot more goals.

If posts in the meet and greet section do not add to one's post count, then members on Fakku may no longer have an incentive to welcome others on board. However, at the same time, using the same sentence to welcome different users may cause a member to appear insincere. As human beings (or maybe it only applies to myself), we would like to be warmly welcomed by one person, rather than have 10 messages from an automated system or bot.
Gambler's recommendation: Put yourself into the shoes of the new user and welcome him/her with sincerity. Use different sentences to welcome different users and if possible, talk about what s/he has said in the opening post. You could also comment on his/her avatar and signature.

I like wearing school uniforms, or rather, I liked seeing my female classmates wear them.
Throughout my younger days in the education system, all of us had to wear school uniforms. However, the white blouses of my female classmates gave me something to look forward to everyday, even more so on wet, rainy days. The translucent material enables one to tell what kind of lingerie (lace, colour, etc) they are wearing. :D
Of course, the physical education attire (some call them bloomers) enhances the physics of movement.
