Here in Oregon the patient has to be terminal at least.
Still straight-up illegal here in the UK whether or not the quality of life is a problem. Considered manslaughter or murder. People have campaigned for it to be decriminalised for the worst cases but so far no progress has been made. People often choose to fly to Switzerland for the lethal injection.
