[Anime] Kill la Kill

[color=#006FFF]Hiroyuki Imaishi's next anime! Out now!
Series Composition/Script: Kazuki Nakashima
Character Design: Sushio
Animation Production: Trigger
It's a 2-cours battle action show set in an all girls high school. The main characters are Ryuuko Matoi and Satsuki Kiryuuin. Satsuki is the 18 year old studen council president in a school where strength rules over all, and her uniform grants her the power of conquest. Ryuuko is a 17 year old transfer student to the school. She carries with her half a piece of a giant scissors-sword as a weapon, and she is looking for the other half seeking revenge for something in her past. The rivalry between the two girls is what drives the series forward.
Originally the plan was to make a pure battle manga sort of series set in a highschool, with the main character beating rival after rival in combat. After Nakashima compled about 4 episodes worth of scripts, Imaishi probably got bored of it because he decided to trash everything. The series has apparently since been changed to focus on character drama instead. The rivalry between the two main characters will be a major driving force.

[color=#006FFF]I'm very happy to hear that it's an action-oriented series that will have a good focus put on character drama as it's been a while since last seeing something more serious from Imaishi. And ordinarily I wouldn't care for the idea of an all-girl school setting in an anime simply because that just begs for typical fan service and archetypes, which I have less tolerance for as the seasons come and go, but the fact that this is not only from Imaishi--the man who makes some of my favorite anime--but also the character designer as well as the composer and script writer from Gurren Lagann--which, yes, had it's own fair share of some of the aforementioned qualities, but not to the extent of several other series' that come to mine--I couldn't more excited.
I hope to see an official trailer for the series soon enough.

That wasn't an anime. It was crappy jokes, and paper cutout animation.

[color=#006FFF]I never finished Inferno Cop, but what I saw was entertaining. Different strokes for different folks.
Anyway, the first TV CM has been released for Kill la Kill and while it doesn't technically show anything new (just some concept art from previously released scans) it does get me more excited. I really hope this series ends up competing with Gurren Lagann as one of my top favorites.

[color=#006FFF]I have never been more excited for an anime to start.
Also, Hiroyuki Sawano--aka, the guy who makes some of most noticeably epic tracks in anime such as Attack on Titan and Sengoku Basara--is composing the soundtrack!
I'm loving everyone's voice, especially Ryuuko, Satsuki, and Ira (the big general dude at the start). I was hoping for a strong yelling voice from Ryuuko to rival that of Noriko's from GunBuster since she easily has my favorite female protagonist voice in an anime as far as yelling goes and it looks like I got what I wanted.
