Just watched episode 18, and Rihoko is just getting cuter and cuter. Spoiler:
I thought the same thing - I bet thats what Kanae told her to ask for Christmas on the phone too.

I refuse to believe that Rihoko is 'fat'. Ridiculous. If she is, she sure as heck isn't drawn that way. Maybe her face, but the rest of her? Hardly. Even mentioning her face is pushing it.
I like this Junichi. Much better than some of the others thus far.
Rihoko is beautiful. And her beauty will rise. Can't wait.
Edit: NICE SNOWMAN.

19 was pretty uneventful actually.well, honestly not really.
There are some events that was pretty eventful in other ways.
-Rihoko's Idol capabilities is a nod to her "extra ending" in the game, where she became a real Idol when she's not in love with Junichi.
Notable Event Cgs
Spoiler:
Other than that it's completely original..
I'm honestly disappointed that there was to much Miya in this episode.
Looks like we won't see Junichi Checking on Rihoko's Diet Progress "personally" and "directly"...sigh
that was a good scene...

Well, I was mostly referring to items that make much progress.
There really didn't seem to be much that made them progress further towards being a couple.
It was mostly little stuff that felt like it was being drawn out a bit.
I dunno, it just felt like there wasn't much conflict.

ROFL.
The problem is Rihoko's Route conflict is about her "diet"
which the anime failed to focus on, even that conflict is almost non-existent in Rihoko's route game.
If they they really did focus on the diet.
you'll see this scene lol

This is a fact though
Rihoko doesn't have "Big Conflict" compared to other girls.
The Love progress is stalled, because Junichi still sees her as a childhood friend, that's why Rihoko wished for "Him to finally notice her Love" in her New Years wish.
This is why I never really liked the idea that Rihoko is the protagonist, this makes Junichi passive as a character and it gets worst because Rihoko is also a passive character.

Yeah, you can definitely tell.
I mean I liked the first two episodes. The pacing wasn't too bad and it was somewhat enjoyable.
But then the third episode came...and well it pretty much didn't go anywhere.
I mean the flow was going good. Introduction - Build-up and then it just went for more Build-up?
So yeah, it feels like nothing really happened because the conflict was either downplayed or just not there when they should have already begun introducing the elements to a main confrontation between the two.
But it's the end of the third episode, and I don't see anything leading anywhere yet.

I would've thought that the conflict was the whole "childhood friend zone" thing to begin with. But if the dieting was supposed to be the major conflict, then that's a really big failure there.

It is realistic by anime standards but it isn't all that entertaining to watch.

Man, I knew something was missing from Rihoko's arc, but I didn't think it would have been something as epic as that. That definitely makes me disappointed about the way her arc is going. It was weird that they talked about the diet within the first two episodes, and then completely dropped it in 19. And I can see where you're coming from with Rihoko not working as a main character. I initially enjoyed the concept at first, but now I'm desperately waiting for her to take the initiative. I'm just hoping that her conclusion will have a bit more than the two of them holding hands...

But there might be some changes if they aimed for the BEST END, because there's something contradicting with the original story in the game.

Yup, Bad ARC is Bad.
BUT..
Like Keima from TWGOK said, [b]There's no "BAD" Heroine, There's only a BAD (Arc) game."

I apologize in advance for not reading through all the replies in this Amagami SS thread, but it just struck me a couple of days ago: Will Amagami SS end on Christmas week? For some reason, I don't think it is a coincidence, since one of the major themes featured is that of Christmas.

Underrated Yes. but Minor, no. Check on the Replies in MAL.

Tachibana spends Christmas with her. He tells her that he always took their relationship for granted but now, it's different. They share a deep, passionate kiss. Many years later in college, Tachibana buys her a cream pastry (her favorite food). Inside it, there's a ring (part of her story, a made up myth about proposing with food and being happy forever). She accepts. They've always been together and always will be.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GOOD
Tachibana spends the school Christmas festival with Rihoko. He hugs and realizes how much she means to him. The next year, he joins the tea club but it's closed due to lack of members. Despite all this, she's with Tachibana and that's all that matters.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NORMAL
She wakes Tachibana up while in bed by jumping in his bed and going underneath the blanket. The silly stuff reminds her of their childhood and the time they spent together. That will not change.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BAD
Bad End: Tachibana begs forgiveness from Rihoko for standing her up on the Christmas date. Rihoko is sick with a cold, but tells him she was never angry at Tachibana and never can be. They repeatedly kiss (Rihoko tells him he might catch the cold). A little while later, Tachibana begs Rihoko to punish him. She makes him eat an all you can eat ice cream parfait. He faints and Rihoko smiles. They'll be best friends forever.
In Rihoko's Bad End, before going to the restaurant, Tachibana asks for Rihoko's forgiveness since he ditches her on Christmas and she gets sick waiting for him. Tachibana meets her while she's sick with a cold and kisses her over and over. She tells him she was never angry at him to begin with and that he'll get sick if he keeps kissing her.

Got Megane?
Actually I really liked this arc the most after seeing it all play out, while I might have preferred a different ending, it still managed to make me smile. The fact that it ended the way it did, in my opinion, managed to preserve Rihoko's pure innocence which is what first drew me to her. Now that the arc has ended she still has retained it. All and all she's still an adorable woman with so much to offer.

I really didn't like this arc as much as the others... I had a negative first impression of Rihoko, but I seem to have warmed up to her near the end. Unfortunately, I feel that the arc is kind of inconclusive... Yes it's obvious that Rihoko and Junichi will get together, and yes they look like a married couple in the last few minutes, but it just didn't have the last punch, finisher feel to it...
