Takeshi Obata the artist did do Hikaru no Go, but this manga is the same writer of Death Note(Tsugumi Ohba) AND artist.

Good manga. Like the artwork and at least it uncovers the people who create and work with the stuff that we like to read :)

You know it's going to, in some way, and he's going to commit suicide afterwards, or disappear from the series until a convenient point in the future where he returns a changed man that challenges the main characters to an "honorable duel" (Pens to the eyes, deathmatch).

Has anybody else been wondering if this is a series with everything already planned out? Like, the creators know exactly what's going to happen and exactly when the series is going to end?

If so, I wonder how long it will be. They already have one volume's worth.

Well, the other did plan on having exactly 108 chapters of deathnote when she/he? wrote it to be symbolic to....something.

I wouldn't be surprised if this one had a set amount too.

Personally, I think mangakas who have a set amount of chapters/volumes they want for a series tend to do better because they have already done the editing and revising needed to fit in that gap.
