12 is out, the ideas at the end sounded pretty cool. I'd probably read them.

I'm starting to like Eiji. As a person, I hate him, but partly because of that, I like him as a character. Things wouldn't be as interesting without him and the way he is.
Looking at the colored title page, I feel in love (again) with Obata's art. I don't think about it much, but I really love the way this series looks.

It would be funny if Shueisha prints all their names into a book. Maybe for a limited edition of Bakuman's takoubon, for example.

I can already tell that the manga they will make will suck.Ok yes I am joking. This isn't the type of manga that lends itself to the thoughts of suicide and death.
Anyways I like the manga. I read it every friday when a new chapter is posted on the net. Its not something I usually read but the fact that they are competing against some insane version of Near makes me read it.

I can say that this series is interesting and all, but that's about it. I'm wondering if Eiji will go all Death Note on us towards the end of the series, we can already predicted who's series he wants revoked.

This needs to move faster. That's the only real problem, but it's a major one, since the reader honestly has no relation to the process, however fascinating. The only thing by which the reader can really gauge consequence is by input from the characters of the story. Which is fairly limited since the commentary is mostly skimmed over, with most of the time being devoted to seeing Mashiro draw. It seems like the character interaction, which is in gross excess in these first few chapters, should be kept to a bare minimum as well, until the story builds up enough of a momentum to intersperse conclusions between the romances.
For example, how it was done in Hikaru no Go; a different author, sure, but the artist should have at least some sense of how monotonous his current work is, and work with the writer a bit more to fix it.
Out of curiosity, does anyone else find the character's expressions grating at times? It might be a side effect of the quick editing, but sometimes their faces contort into the strangest shapes... and at others, Obata's art is just as it's always been. The contrast between the two has been a little grating.
Also, the Miyoshi character is unbelievably annoying.
