Maybe it's just a TL error, but in ep. 9, QB says:

Perhaps meaning that the Walpurgis is a single strong witch that appears on the Walpurgis Night? The idea of there being single or multiple witches isn't really confirmed either way.

He basically, said she had the power to re-write laws and time. Guess nothing would stop her from reversing almost everything that has happen which was my first idea, but that seems way to basic for this show at least and voids the whole reason. However, thinking it has something to do along those lines. As for Homura, I remember during the same epsiode Madoka mentioning have they meet each other before...so that is huge hint of her possibly being related to events in the alternative time-line (or the same side of the coin if you will).

as insanely powerful witch. Assuming by the language used it is only ONE witch (possible the thing at ep 01, but can't really be sure. It is definitely a bit ambiguous, but for now, I assume it is just one witch, unless it has underlings.

i was starting to think the same as well when kyoko died and they allied when need be. I think she will find something to fight for (perhaps the case being Walpurgis night)despite all the suffering and losses she might find a reason to fight and change.I think that "bad ending" will make the series more interesting though...would you not agree? I'll still keep my fingers crossed that she will make the contract someway along the way,i don't think exactly at the end of the series though.Despite all of Akemi efforts not to i think somehow it will.

Homura in the past was a timid person till she meet Madoka and when she was saved by her and Mami.
But still WTF, SHE'S WEARING GLASSES!
Most of us know that Homura time traveled to help stop Madoka but she only came to that realization after 5 trips through time.
The part where Mami was going to kill everyone to stop them from dying as witches made me sad how hard it could be to do that ;_;
I been wondering where Homura was getting weapons, guess I didn't expect the Yakuza to have heavy weapons.
Madoka was pretty bad ass. I can see where Homura's coolness came from.
Every time Madoka turned into a witch the world ended.............. Kyubey are you lying to us!?

Wow...episode 10 was incredible. I was blown away with how much backstory and detail and emotion they were able to place within 20 or so minutes. It almost feels like we could have gotten any version of the gang's tale, from how many times Homura has traveled back in time, and I was very glad to see all of those multiple endings, (as grim as they were). I was surprised to see Homura as timid as Madoka has been in this timeline, but it was very nice to gradually see her become the badass that she is today. Honestly, I'm still really hoping that Madoka doesn't become a puella, especially after all this. I really don't want to see her or Homura suffer anymore. Although, with only the two of them left, things don't look very good. I'm wondering if Homura will have to travel back in time again and keep everyone alive throughout so that they can all fight on Walpurgis Night and emerge victorious/limited causalities.

Also, Kyubey could care less if the world explodes. He just wants that damn energy. He's almost a parallel to how selfish humanity can be, though, with the environment and the depletion of the ozone layer and such.

Any one else watch this weeks episode and think of Higurashi? I did.

So now I see this series as Magical Higurashi.
Of course with not as much death/guro aspects.

Man, Homura is so fucking boss, but it's also really fucking depressing knowing she had to see her friend die multiple times, even killing her once. I cannot wait for next week's episode~!

Sayaka and Kyoko were Mahou Shoujo in one reality and not the others. Also, Madoka ended Walpurgis Night in one reality, yet she dies in the others.
