Definitely liked where this is going. Ayase is a very likable character.
Oh and the Siscalypse game, Reika (the witch) is such a broken character. I mean seriously, her special move from the looks of it has no cost and takes away more than half your health. It doesn't even seem like you can even block it. Even more deadly than Tager.

I can't wait till the later episodes. I wonder what's gonna happen when they catch up to the light novel? I wonder a lot of things about the light novel too.
Also I must say the opening of this intro song of this is... well... no amount of words can describe the amount of win of it. Like it? Love it? Download it then! CD quality ftw. Although I wish I had a better scanner. Album art came out like crap.

Ugh, I spoiled myself (only seeing anime), didnt thought ppl would be talking about the light novel spoilers here, not opening anything more.

One of the two animes I'm actually following this season and I like it. The siblings interaction is funny and sweet!

Wow, just finished episode #5.
And I have to say, that this show is absolutely amazing. This episode evoked all sort of deep emotion. Sadness, guilt, anger, and many more. I don't think I've felt attached to an anime like this in a long time.
And to top it all off, I don't think I have EVER laughed as hard as I did to an anime as I did near the end of this episode.
Everything about this has been absolutely amazing. The story, the timing, the animation. Nothing in makes me feel wanting.
It's already in at least the top 3 of my most favorite animes. And if it keeps this up until the end. It will claim the #1 spot in a most definite manner.

Enjoying this show but it does me bug me when some characters come in and mindlessly call the hobby disgusting. I understand that's intended, creates drama and conflict but Urghh >_>
Still enjoying the series though, I hope next episode has Kirino apologizing to Kuroneko, a much better less annoying friend.

This shows that this anime is closer to reality. Which is actually good for the "Life Cycle" of this anime.
Ayase's reaction is as normal as any People "In Japan". Adding the fact that the media is always trying to find something to "kill" otaku, it's pretty much the same with the real world.
Imagine that this (drama) didn't happen, there won't be any progress and the relation of Kyosuke and Kirino will just run around in circles. You know that Progression of relationships needs a certain "trigger" and "obstacles".
Just eat the "bitter pill" and enjoy the rest of the unfolded story in the future.
At least now Ayase and Kirino are friends again, and Ayase also knows that confession was a Lie. Ayase is what you can call a "real friend" that tries to protect her friend, the misunderstanding is cause by the misinformation, and her reation to 18+ eroge stuff is once again very normal. You can't blame her to suddenly go "berserk" when She founds out about it.
Ps: Sorry, for the tl;dr, because it isn't fair to say that Ayase is a hated character just because she has different standards with Kirino, and was trying to hard protect the "image" of the Kirino "She Knew". After the events now she has accepted Kirino's "New Image".
Honestly I never like Characters being hated just because of something like this.

Fair enough, I like that it does the whole close to reality thing and gives some real life reactions. But it just doesn't change how I feel about Ayase :/
I didn't like that when Kirino was trying to just leave she chased after her, constantly bugging her. I know Ayase is her best friend but Blargh. Also what I don't understand is that if she really is her best friend why is she not talking to Kirino over some hobby? Doesn't seem like a good friend to me.
And fair enough she was misinformed, she doesn't fully understand the whole hobby, but it's just Ayase as a whole that I really dislike, the obsessiveness and the somewhat bitchyness.
But hey like I said, I understand stories need drama and conflict otherwise it's dull, the story won't move forward. But Ayase just really bugged me unfortunately.
Although I'm glad it was resolved within one episode, nothing worse than dragging something out.

^I don't have a psp......damn......
That artwork is very nice....
Ayase has a yandere tendency (obsessive compulsive disorder) so that's why her reaction to otaku is a bit extreme. She only wanted to protect her best friend (yandere target) from bad influence....

I don't know about people looking down on others for liking manga and anime though. That seemed weird to me when Ayase went crazy - i thought it would just be because she was lied to, but when she really said it was about the Otaku-ness of Kirino I found that odd. The media does bash otaku culture all the time (because it causes people to become lazy and depressed with their lives if taken too far) but nobody in japan will find it weird if you like an anime or manga. I saw a business man in his 60s yesterday on the train who was reading DBZ manga. I've also seen a mom with her kids reading Doraemon. This leads me to believe that Ayase was mainly upset that her friend was looking at eroge and hentai things which (looking at the cover of the manga) had loli or incest in it.
