The Slut Movement - Should it be allowed?
Should girls be allowed to dress however they want even if its totally slutty?

Well... i've met at least 3 girls with a rape fetish and a few i suspect dont know it yet.So its actually not complete bullshit.
...usually "rape" fetishes are fantasies that someone wishes enacted in a forceful manner, but by someone of their choosing and consent.
Real rape is, by definition, unwanted.

Yeah, that's why i said it's not complete bullshit.
When i say rape fetish though i mean they told me they get off on the thought of a complete stranger breaking in and using/abusing them, which would be 'real' rape. The chances of a girl like that actually getting raped though seem slim so they end up just telling their boyfriend or a close guy friend to break in one night and "fake" rape them.
Either way my point is, some girls do want to be raped, whether or not its by someone of their choosing is just semantics.

You can wear what you want, whatever it may be. Just don't be angry/annoyed when you are judged a certain way in your community. Because, more than likely, you don't live in a community that judges actions rather than appearances.

well I guess my answer is No.
There are a couple of reasons why:
1. Wearing any kind of clothes is within a persons right and liberty but every freedom has limitations.
2 Some pose the argument that rapist are ones who should restrain themselves but that's totally half true.If a girl is gets naked or wears a mini skirt without undies wouldn't it be stroking the fire for a guy who sees her? I mean its just sends the wrong message.
3. I don't agree with the notion that wearing indecent clothes are not against the law. I think wearing those kind of clothes are against public morals and good customs.I for one wouldn't mind seeing a girl without undies but what about the kids or young ones who don't understand their concept?
anyways its just my opinion on the matter.I hope I shared something good for the Thread

if we didnt live in,a world of murdering rapists i,,would be all for the nudist movement but the fact is guys are turned on by the visual so dressing slutty can get you raped if the wrong mentally sick person sees it hence why i vote no girls should watch what they wear and i will continue to walk around my house, naked later

Yes and noThey can wear whatever they want(even if it makes them look foolish), but they have to consider who sees them, which includes children(boys and girls).
I definitely agree with this.

I agree that people can wear what they want, just have to be aware of the world around them. People judge and respond to others based on a ton of things including dress.

I agree as well. Have to take these things into consideration.

It's allowed as a form of free speech by the constitution. But if they start walking around with their boobs hanging around and their hairy vag showing, that's indecent exposure and is a violation of the law.
Also, if you dress like a prostitute, people are going to think you are one, just like if you don a white coat and stethoscope people will think you're a doctor.

YES they should.
I find it ridiculous that i cant walk around even with just a bra on when men go around topless!
and you can dress up with your tits and pussy fully covered and still look and be an actual whore/prostitute
as for the why, it depends? i just wear a bra when im in a club, it get really hot in there you know! especially if you dance as much as i do. and turning in a coat costs MONEY, so jsut ditch the coat... and yeah, someone WILL steal it if you just put it somewhere

Not disagreeing with the principle of thing, but the Slut Movement is going about it the entirely wrong way.
With these marches, it seems that they're promoting slutty behaviour- as opposed to denouncing rapists who use the self-defined sluts as justification for their actions.
I think the problem is two-fold.
1) Rapists are not punished severely enough. Therefore- not enough of a deterrent. Castration would guarantee that there are no repeat offenders.
2) Popular culture encouraging slutty behaviour. Basically- yes- asking for it.
If you are going to dress and act a certain way- do know that that is basically painting a big target sign for these sickos.
Of course- they can and will go after anybody. But 'sluts' will be seen as easy prey in the minds of predators, and- just like the animals they are- rapists will prioritize them.
It's a dangerous world out there. Take precautions. If you're gonna go out without underwear, include a can of mace in your wardrobe.

I agree with everything gizgal said. :/ There's no point in repeating it. Its pretty fucking annoying I cant walk down the street in a certain area I lived without a "PERVERT" all of a sudden all eyes on me and I fucking hate attention. Stupid asses need this movement drilled into society otherwise those alleyways will ALWAYS BE DANGEROUS. [btw I never wore anything but jeans and sweaters so no "APPARENTLY SLUTTY CLOTHING GENRE" TIGHTS OR TANKTOPS OR ANYTHING THAT MAKES A PERVERT HOUND A STRANGER OUT OF SOME SOCIETAL MANIACAL PERVERT THAT SEE'S "OPPORTUNITY" TO OPPRESS AN INNOCENT AND INDEPENDENT FEMALE] >:( I will wear whatever the fuck I want now and I am not "asking" for "anything". Though dont go wild in ur imaginations nothing out of fashion ordinary.

But men walking around the streets topless is frowned upon too. Though legally you are allowed to walk around the streets without a top on.

It is a person's fundamental right to express themselves however they want, even if it be clothing.
If a woman wants to be seen as a slut, then who am I to say no.

Whether or not it is legal for a girl to dress however she wants, societal pressure will always influence her to dress in a certain way.

All rights to them, as long as women don't wear something that could cause them to be fined for indecent exposure or cause a major accident. Their are way more important problems in this world then worrying about a woman desire to dress sluty. If you find the view offensive, then look the other way or ignore it.

There has been some opinions that the slut movement is approaching this wrong way by taking the 'slut' term as their own and even pronouncing themselves as sluts, but I think that was pretty much the only way to do it. The other option would be saying "WE are not sluts", and thus seeing sluts as a separate group of people whom it's okay to violate. Sexy clothing doesn't make women second class citizens.
The comment that triggered the movement was a very practical piece of advice, one that would be okay if you said it to your daughter or sister. The problem was that it was targeted to public, and thus was seen as an attempt (not necessarily intentional) to create and strenghten the public opinion. The slut movement is against the IDEA and the DISCOURSE that the victim is responsible for rape. Whetever clothing encourages rape or not is actually a bit irrelevant. If that officer's comment hadn't caused a reaction it would have ment that people see it to be okay and natural that women in skimpy clothes are more likely to get raped, and that doesn't need to be changed.

I say yes.
If we want to look slutty, then we should be able to look as slutty as we want, whilst not being too overbearing.

people whom [rapists] see us [sic] more vulnerable are more likely to be victimized. Whatever turns you on, yo.
Heck, the law enforcers are not always there to save our butts. We should also do something for ourselves.
Rape is not about sating sexual desire. Rape is about power, plain and simple - the illusion, temporary as it may be, that because Person A can derive sexual pleasure from Person B, that Person A is somehow more deserving, more entitled, more powerful than Person B.
On the note of the law, please see below.
To respond to the argument about not locking your car is "inviting" someone to rob you, that's a flawed construct, IMO.
To me, the lock on the car corresponds to knowing self-defense, carrying a whistle, etc. (in other words, being proactive). The car's make, model, paint job, condition, etc. are all more equivalent to clothing; people will judge you based on them no matter what you do. Many people want that and buy expensive cars or get custom paint jobs to influence that judgement, regardless of whether or not that conclusion is true or not (e.g. big trucks as compensatory measures, buying a car that's out of one's budget). By the same token, many people buy/wear certain clothes to communicate their intent.
Just like how you'd never actually want someone to rob your car, or have the perpetrator be let off scot-free in a court of law with the justification of saying "it was unlocked," a rapist shouldn't be excused because someone isn't proactive about what they should and shouldn't do in order to avoid getting targeted by rapists.
(The fact that it shouldn't be the would-be victim's responsibility to ward off attacks is another matter altogether.)
Yes, the law will not always be present to prevent crimes. Yes, there is value in self-reliance. But that does not in any way, shape, or form lighten the burden of the legal system to perform its most basic function: protect its constituents.

Had to stop the video half way because i believe i lost some brain cells from watching that...
I understand where they are coming from...But when people are going saying ''I'm a slut and proud'' it looks REALLY classless and distasteful and not only that, it makes other women look bad. I'm pretty damn sure that if i was a woman, i wouldn't want to be called a slut.
And what's worse..? CHILDREN. I in no way want any kids to see stuff like this because they will not understand at all and pick up in the behavior. If little girls started copying this, it would be nightmarish.
