This is a repeat of a poll from nearly nine months ago, but in that time we have more than tripled the amount of active users coming to the site, so it's new for a lot of people. Plus I would like to see what everyone thinks.
For me it's definitely art, with language coming in a close second. My favorite artist is probably Kisaragi Gunma, but he is the only one I have made myself familiar with. So in addition to your answers for the poll, do you have a favorite artist?
Usually the story matters a lot to me. Why bother reading something thats boring, right? Though I go for artwork most of the time. If the cover is appealing then theres a better chance i'll pick it up. I seem so shallow. Heh Usually the story ends up being good to though, so it works out in the end.
Oh, and i'll read mostly anything regardless of the language, censorship or if its black and whore or color.
Even though I am a new member on the site I would have to say Artwork. Sometimes it is known and proven that artwork alone can tell the story without words, though art can save the story as well if the plot is not thick or catchy enough for some. I would have to agree with Jacob on two things since it has not been a while since I've read "love selection" and was freaking out to how well the artwork and story was done. Kisiragi Gunma is the man in my eye though a close second is the author and artist of the "Shining Musume" series.
I voted story. Anyone can make great art with a lot of practice, but story is something that you really need to take time to think over and it's what separates the good doujins and the better doujins for me.
i agree with Jacob about kisaragi gunma. for me its between art and story but i chose story because its all well and good to see random fucking but part of the reason i like hentai is that you can have a fairly believable stroy that leads upto the fucking, unlike a lot of 'live action' porn movies where it's just 'u've been a bad boy. now fuck me.' however, i also find it hard to fap to doujins that look like they've been drawn by a blind 2 year old with no hands.
I voted for Artwork. I "read" doujins for the art. If I wanted a story I'd read a manga. Language not at all because I like to interpret the art as something else. I hate censorship because it's obscuring the good stuff.
At First I Had A Hard Time Chosing Between Artwork And Stroy But If I Chose A Someting To Read Randomly The Artwork Would Be What I Looked For. But I Do Like If The Story Is Good Like The Evangaline Retake.
Art and Story is very close, though i chose story instead. You can sorta have an ok drawn but amazing story (that's still pretty nice), Or you can have an amazingly drawn scene but pretty pointless/confusing (meh). Although this may not apply to everyone, this does apply to me. So yeah =P
yes of course the artwork is important, but I think that it's the story who's the very most important. The artwork is just a tool to show the story. Without story, a doujin can be beautiful but so boring !
