I'd have to say artwork as thats what you're basically going to be staring at for the duration of the doujin. The story just works hand-in-hand with the artwork to bring the doujin to life.

Definitely Artwork.
Story and the like, is fine, but if it's ugly-fugly, I don't care how well colored or censored/uncensored or the story's content, nobody's gonna read it if it looks like the reader can draw better blindfolded using their opposite writing hand..

This really is a tough choice. I usually dont like hentai unless it has good artwork but I cant read japanese. The color thing doesnt really matter a whole lot imo.

If we are talking about doujins, what is important is the art. Then comes the content/story, Though personally I don't really care if there is a story, what I care about is that there isn't a weird fetish in the middle of a doujin.
My favorite artists are: Kensoh Ogawa, Ando Hiroyuki, Air Praitre, Amatarou, and Bakuretsu Fusen. I love big boobs. :oops:

hmm i have to say the artwork is the most important, doesn't matter if the story is good but the artwork sucks right? so i say artwork,then coloring and stuff then story, and my favorite is still kisaragi gunma :D

It's definitely artwork. Doujin/Manga is meant to be fap material for me. I cant get turned on if it looks like pre-K fingerpaint. Coloring is second, and thats only if it has color to begin with.

Def art work, I don't like the sketch work at all its not clean and dosen't look good. or if the artist cant draw the ladys well or the jugs (super huge= no good). But my most fav artist has to be Shirow Masamune. Some of his mainstream works were Ghost in a shell, Appleseed, Brave new world. I love his art work.

Well, i can imagine a good story with bad(not crappy) artwork, that would be enjoyable. But, good artwork with a bad story...i just don't read(?) it.

I voted for artwork, I was suprised how many people voted for story, it's really important, but surely language is more important unless you know japanese (or are just incredibly good at following what's going on without the dialogu :P)

I chose artwork, because it can make some of the stupidest stories decent. I think were-slut is a decent example of this. My current favorite artist is Yamatogawa, creator of witchcraft and tayu tayu, he has really good art and pretty good stories. But I also like monzetsu its art is good but I just love the stories and its endings. It's quite long at about 170 pages each one. Warning it's pretty disturbing but story helps if it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't read it.

I like the story to be important followed by the artwork. Having a great story makes it even better read through; especially with good artwork.
