a good story is always needed. meaningless sex is...well, meaningless sex. anyone can draw at least that much. but artwork does rank number two. Cuvie has decent art.

Story, artwork and Language, on that order. A good story can make up for a not so good artwork, while language is good, if the scenes are well drawn it isn't need to get the general idea of the story. In the end a good story is everything, the rest comes in second.

About favorite artirts, I have a few Urushihara,Kisaragi Gunma, GOLD RUSH, Naruko Hanaharu, Takeda Hiromitsu.

Definitely art.
When you consider that the general purpose of erotic comics is to sexually arouse, the biggest contributing factor towards that goal is almost always art. Plot can enhance that, but even a great plot comes to nothing if paired with bland visuals.
Favorite artist: the guy/girl/potato that did "Drifting Classroom" and...a Fullmetal Panic book that I can't recall the title of. And it's all about the artwork with those. The story is either complete nonsense or horribly cliched, but the artwork is just so fluid and unique.

If the cover is appealing then theres a better chance i'll pick it up. I seem so shallow. Both artwork and story are really important, but story is slightly more important.
It's since that you can read a good random doujin here and there, but if there's a story, there's at least something to go on before you get to the good parts. Usually doujins will have say: rape, 3some or more and other random stuff but usually never contributes to a good story since now the relationship is pretty ruined in my case(sometimes really hate it when main female char is raped, but main male char does nothing to stop it).
When I'm looking for story, I usually look for a pairing between two characters (can be from yuri to straight) and see how they make it develop even in a short amount of time. If it's cute or just some odd slice of life, I'll keep it within my doujin folder if it has a good ending.
Artwork is almost as equally as important (like when I read Kisaragi Gunma or Taka Tony since the level of detail is great and can add to the reading experience. Most people don't want to read a doujin if it looks like the whole thing has been sketched into some random artbook right?

I'd like to say language. My first was on artwork but then again, you cant appreciate anything if you dont understand shit. I'm more of the type that would go for the storyline and plot. And obviously artwork comes next and censorship.

I hate when manga/doujin is in color. So for me Color / BW , but without a good art doujin is not something i'd enjoy :). And only with good story it can be masterpiece :).
As for artist: everyone favorite Gunma and Suehirogari. I also love art in Gabler Club doujins

I went for Artwork. Without good artwork, the entire work loses a great deal of touch. At the end of the day, it is still a drawn work and not a novel I read, with a focus on the art.

I voted story because i mean, just starting out f-ing is wierd. Also the artwork definatly comes second and last for me would be the languague(although it shoulve came first) because if u cant understand what the hell it says, why get it? The rest: :? :roll:
