Anyone can make great art with a lot of practice, but story is something that you really need to take time to think over and it's what separates the good doujins and the better doujins for me.I have to agree with what Deft Monkey said. In addition, if its a doujin based off of a preexisting series like Naruto or Bleach, I like it when it seems as though the story presented within the doujin could actually take place within the larger story, (ex: Hinata Fight, Shinigami Ladies).

I choose story becuase it not intresting if there no Secrit, Lust, Dirty or past love in the story you know. it has to have something in it to make you read it right.

I will pick artwork 100% of the time. If it's got great art, I will always download it. I could really care less about the story/plot and what language its in for doujinshi, although preferably in english but not a real priority for me, although story and language are right below artwork for h-manga since it's really just manga with sex.
I gotta say that one of my favorite artists has to be Kutani from the circle AXZ. Kutani's got some of the hottest drawings, IMO.

it's art all the way. second of course would be the story plot. and language. because it affects the mood of the story.
i mean just imagine how much of a turnoff it would be to see the translations in bad grammar. instead of it being a form of art and a way to make things steamy for you...you laugh. we cant help but laugh at wrong grammar right? XD
P.S.
is it possible for fakku to post this particular manga entitled: "Manga Sutra"? i dont know...i'd like to see a lighter version of sex in graphic novel form...and also: "M_Onna_Senka" something like that. i found it once in mangabox.com and by gods it has good artwork.

Depends which medium you're using in the example really.
But pretty much is the artwork itself beyond all the others.
I mean, for h-games story and gameplay is MUCH more important but for the plain old basic stuff from images, to doujins, it's got to look attractive to begin with.

If the look is good, i will reading more doujins of the artist^^
Second: Language
Because I love fan-translation (FAKKU YEAH XDDD) and i am not the person who just look at pictures and guess, what they are speaking about^^ ... not always o_O
Third and last: Story
Every good doujin needs a good story. Do not exaggerate and improbably, if it's an adaption of an anime xD I am really ashamed of my bad english...

Its always good to be able to read somthing to fully appriciate all the work put into it. But i'd let that slide if it looks realy good :wink:

The art gives me the boner... but the story is the one that finishes the job... if it's random and silly, just can't read it

from my point of view the language is the most important cause i cant speak/read any japanese^^
and then the story follows very close to the language, cause its really important to have a good storyline, if there's the best artwork and no story its just not the same like to have a well written story to read
