It's a clash between Story and artwork, but I love a good story. They could have nice artwork, but not have a good story, but it just can't appeal without the story.

I have to say story, but i can't read it if its not in english, so language. My favorite is also Kisaragi Gunma. He has his own folder on my hard drive with all his translations downloaded.

Artwork. I mean what's the point of hentai if it looks like shit? Story doesn't really matter as most is jap which I can't read very well(I know a little) so yeah

Well for me Artwork, Story, & Language are important.
Artwork - having a nice artwork is very important to the readers.
Story - I'll read all of it , as long as the story is good
Language - I can't read it if it's in other language except English or Filipino.

Well if i had to order it
1.Artwork = This is the most basic element, Has to stimulate the senses through the readers eyes. Every detail and texture counts. Let the reader feel the softness.
2.color = adds realism into the mix, shading, coloring, all important and sometimes erotic element in artwork, this is pretty much a sub category to the above.
3.censorship = Whether it's there or not is extremely important. If you're great at drawing the body, face, eyes, etc. but can't get the "specifics" right cover it up and save your artwork. If not I'd prefer if it'd be absent from the material
4.language = I just say I'm talking about the way the writing is written and not literal language (Ex: english, japanese)if the dialogue is truly that great, it can really support the art. Otherwise of it's just the literal definition of language, it doesn't matter to me. There are some doujns I never would want to know the words to.
5.story = Also important but in the least. I'd be fine with a mix of pictures with the elements above. Even in language only one line captioning the entire work can be sufficient. That's why image galleries are doing so well.

It's a close call, but like they say, a picture just isn't a picture without... the picture. Okay, so I made that up. But I've gotta say that it's really difficult to take it seriously if it consists of stick figures and the like.

This totally depends on context. If we're talking about anything with pictures, the artwork has to be good quality. You can't expect me to fap to stick drawings...
On the other hand, if we are talking about something like a visual novel, then I have to say that the story makes everything. Even with poor art quality, the story can still be brought forth, presented and thoroughly enjoyed.
But seeing this on front page polls, I'll assume its talking about the manga, so artwork gets my vote.
