My vote is for artwork, i just love great art in a doujin.
Three of my favorite artists are Yamatogawa, Riroland and of course, Satoshi Urushihara.

well I do agree that the story is def very important but by far I enjoy the artwork I want to def regonize the doujin from the anime show that I enjoy like if u see bleach for example and the people look like there from some completely diffrent anime not related to the original anime series that I do not enjoy at all. But I would have to say artwork is the most important :D

I'd say artwork and story in that order - sometimes doujins can have a good story and a horribly out of proportion and overladen artwork that just ruins the whole thing... There's no compliment between the two - it's either shitty art with a good story or descent to dull story with great art (yes there are a few exceptions).

well artwork is pretty important but i also believe that language and the storyline are also important if you want to really get into it

Honestly I gotta say the Artwork is the most important. Of course Story and Language come in a close second, but I feel even if the story is good if the Artwork is crappy then really there's no point to it. Then again it all depends on how good the story actually is. I've watched and read some pretty crappy things before but I did it only because the story was amazing.

Artwork, definitely. Censorship and story are important too, though. The best stories are the ones you laugh at.

For me the artwork is definitely the most important. Even with a bad story if I can get into the art it's more then enough for me ;)

I think since Artwork for me is the most important, Censorship has to be second since it compromises the hell out of the first.
I can even stand full screen movies- a cinematographer went to great lengths to put EXACTLY what you are seeing on screen, know that just above are dozens of lights, and just below are tape, sandbags and tracks- thats like slapping them in the face.
Since I'm not much of an artist myself...I could only imagine how much more painful it is to see any detail compromised.
(that and, I've bought 2 hentai vids off ebay and was pissed as hell when they came super mosaic-ified (im talking more mosaiced than usual, it was awful!, ended up buying the domestic ones as soon as i saw them somewhere)

Story because senseless sex sometimes ruin all the hentai. But artwork are too good to, more real or unreal make it very good, i always like real tits or little tits, i like it because aproach more to reality.

Definitely the art... though story/subject matter is about tied with that. I just chose art, because that's what initially draws me to a doujinshi - the cover art. A nice story is enjoyable, but that's watered down a bit if the art isn't also enjoyable. I guess it works a bit vice-versa too.
Oh, and my favorite artist at the moment has to be Mitarashi Club. His Akiko (Kanon) doujinshi are probably my favorites. Even if some of his older stuff is eh... not in my taste.
