It's more or less that Dubbed animes are sorta cheesey.
The Subbed animes are about the best ones, besides, sounds better (in the usual animes and hentai).

Most recent animes that I seen dubbed aren't as good as the ones I seen in the past. For the sake of the poll I would choose subs but I'm not going to lie, I seen some animes where dubs were better than the original Japanese dub. I'm willing to bet that a lot of people in this thread were quick to say something like "Subs! Dubs suck" or something with the same meaning but anime dubs back from for example 95' weren't so bad. Some like Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, G Gundam, Gundam 0083, and many others that I can't think of at the moment aren't so bad to be ridiculed in my opinion. I just think that the reason why a lot of dubs suck is that the English VAs can't capture or express the same emotions for certain characters that a Japanese VA could.

One of the few topics I am in the minority, I can't stand subs, I have to have dubs. If the dub is bad, I'd rather not watch the show/movie at all.
I'm even waiting for the new Full Metal Alchemist to be dubbed before I watch it.

I genrally watch anime subbed and prefer it that way.
But I still always watch Dragonball Z with the dubs, feels kind of wrong otherwise.

It's incredibly hard to capture the raw emotion of Japanese in english, so 95% of the time I go subbed. Japanese as a language also just sounds kickass. Some anime manage to pull it off though like Hellsing and FMA.

Well to delve a little bit deeper into the issue, with the proper licensing and effort to export something as close to original quality as possible dubs actually come very good. The primary drawback is lack of interest in foreign markets for dubs and cultural translation both in the studio and in the animation. See most often the shows are set in Japan making everything that much harder to explain in another language due to cultural differences not to mention that voice acting for animated series is more culturally and economically important profession in Japan. That being said truly high quality dubs in any language will be few and far between until animation is taken more seriously and becomes a bigger part of foreign market and culture. Sorry, kind of a long rant, but yeah I'll stick with subs myself and IF I find any good dubs I'll probably watch them.

Second, it's not a bad assumption, it's a reasonable one, the majority of anime viewers prefer subs and are quick to choose that over dubs. The poll results even assumes that the majority will go for a subbed anime over a dubbed one. The gap is 3000+ votes. And like catfish said, no where in my post ever mentioned your name.

However, the way you phrased it made me think that everybody here is an idiot for quickly choosing subs over dubs when there are plenty of people here that can appreciate dubs but still prefer subs. Poll results don't reflect that; they only show that the majority of people prefer subs over dubs, nothing more.
And as you can tell, this was a case of overreaction on my part, but my interpretation of your post was reasonable the way you wrote it. What I shouldn't have done was to consider it as a personal attack.

Well i haven't read all the posts, because its 26 pages long xD
but ill got for subs most of the time, but not entirely.
Sometimes you just cant dub those extreme, hyperactive, characters because English dub, doesn't give it enough expression, or emotion.

Sub is really good but I'd still go with dub, (as long as I understand the dub)
before I thought that dubs really suck but when I tried watching dubs, while appreciating it and thinking that subs don't exist, it started to sound good. LOL
Maybe before I don't like dub and think it sucks because I'm used to subbed so I'd naturally reject dub and think it's not good even though its a good one

Subbed. Simply because dubbers make things "more child friendly" meaning the whole thing loses its intensity and even the real meaning is altered. Also dubbers cannot act properly and sound really weird and retarded.
