I mostly watch sub's because the dub version either a) sounds really annoying, or b) has a loss of meaning. dub's can be really nice when done well though, b/c you can focus more on the aesthetics of the piece then. I know its already been said, but the E7 and cowboy bebop dubs were really good :)

subbed 90%
dubbed 9 %
Any other result would have confused me, I wonder what happend to the last percent, though :)
I watched many different anime, and when it's about dubs, than I can just say that a lot of them is awful because the speakers of the dubbed version do not always seem to be qualified for this job :)
Some animes are dubbed with good voices, but the story is changed or censored so that little childred, for whom that anime was definitly not made, can watch it without making their parents worry.
There are some good dubbs of course, but sometimes you might watch a dub and think
" oh, thats actually not to bad"
and some time later, when you watch the subbed version of it you think
" oh my got this one's so much better I cant belive that I watched this anime dubbed, it totally ruined the mood"
at least that's what I thought when I startet giving subs a try ;)

I'll admit it. I voted for dubs. In the majority of anime I watch, I vastly prefer subs. The writing is just so atrocious that I wouldn't be able to stand hearing it in a language I truly understand, well-dubbed or not. However, for a good show, and voice talent being largely equal (there are good and bad seiyuus and VAs), I would choose the dub pretty much every time. Not only can I enjoy uncluttered graphics, but language carries tones, inflections, and meanings that can only be caught by a native speaker.
Oh, but hentai should never, NEVER be viewed with the English dub track. For whatever reason, grunts and moans sound better at higher pitches.

I voted for dubbed for the simple fact that in a high-action anime, or the random times they say something very short and it becomes an entire line of text, it sometimes becomes a pain to keep up since I only read the same speed as spoken word.
Other than that subs are great.

Dubbing most of the times normally went out-of-age of the character. There are plenty of examples when dubbing is disaster. Example:1 boy(12-14) voice is almost as 20+age.
So yeah, Sub rules!

I think the only dub I liked was Cowboy Bebop. It's stuff like the Lucky Star dub that make me cringe. Especially when there's a lot of cultural references and they dont know how to translate it. I would probably still watch a Toradora dub though :D

Honestly, I prefer to watch anime dubbed first, THEN watch it subbed.
I believe more people should watch dubs. Sure, some dubbing is not too great, but there are a VERY decent amount of good dubs out there that a lot of you guys NEED to give a fair chance.
It also pisses me off how some people hate on dubs like they could do any better. Protip: MOST OF US CANNOT DO BETTER THAN PROFESSIONAL VOICE ACTORS. STOP LYING TO YOURSELVES.
Also, I think we need to give US voice actors a lot more respect. They work way too damn hard to just have there work thrown away by some people who think a language they cannot even speak somehow is better sounding than their own damn native one.

prefer subbed because it kinda teaches you and also im not very familiar with the language so if there doing a bad job for the most part im unaware but if they do a bad job in english i know and it makes my ears bleed and ruins the experience =D

Well... if I honestly think about it.
I'm sure to a Japanese person, anime sounds just as cheesy in Japanese as it does to an English person watching an English dub they find cheesy.
I don't get the "they don't sound the right age" argument either. Most 14/15 year olds don't sound as young as you'd think. When I was 15 my voice wasn't much higher than it is now. Quite frankly a lot of the younger teens in subs sound like they are 20, and some 20 year olds sound 10. Age really shouldn't be a factor anyways. Take Bleach for example. A 15 year old who is ripped and sounds 19? Gimme a break.
I think you have to look at it from both sides. Have you guys seen Japanese versions of English shows/movies? Anyone seen the Lion King in Japanese? Awkward as heck.
